Recycle your old phones

Every week in the United Kingdom households are encouraged to separate their paper, plastic and other everyday materials in order for them to be recycled, the same however, cannot be said for old mobile phones. For most people it is not unlikely that they will come across an old Nokia or even iPhone lying discarded at the back of drawer having not been thought about for years. In fact a couple of years ago it was estimated that about 90 million phones could be found lying unused around people's houses in the United Kingdom.

On the other hand, some people may just be inclined to throw their old mobiles into the bin along with all their other rubbish, this however, is not a very good idea. Most of a mobile's circuit board is made up of fibreglass which, often ends up at sites where it can leak dangerous chemicals into the air, soil and groundwater.

This is not necessary though as it there is an easy and safe way to recycle your old mobile phone (or iPad or tablet) and it could work out to be beneficial for you and for someone else.

You can send your old or unwanted phones to Reciproc8 and in return be rewarded in one of three ways:
• Payment directly into your bank account.
• Utilize the value as credit against purchases of devices and accessories.
• Donation to a charity of your choice.

Once your phone is in the hands of our professionals it will be refurbished and then sold on to one of our clients; this could be anyone from an individual buyer who just wants a new phone to the police force or fire fighters who need to buy multiple devices at once.

Ultimately, wherever your unwanted phone ends up it will be of a lot more use than it has been, hidden away at the back of your drawer, forgotten about! So, have a look around your house, see if you can find any unwanted devices and you never know, you could find yourself making a bit of extra money.
