- Xfce 4.10 is released.
For more info, visit: http://www.xfce.org/about/news/?post=1335571200
- Xfce 4.10 should be available for Xubuntu 12.04 LTS (via PPA) after some time (there is no specific date - you will be notified here when it's ready), but please note that only Xfce 4.8 is officially supported on Xubuntu 12.04 LTS. Xubuntu+2+Fernando Monroy that is Xfce 4.10 pre2 - not final release...May 1, 2012
I can't understand some people, perhaps they don't exactly understand the purpose of an LTS. LTS are suppose to be the most stable release you can bring out every 2 years that you commit to supporting for those 2 years.
Imagine if XFCE 4.10 has a bunch of bugs that need to be fixed...how much of a pain that will be to have in an LTS release. The PPA will be out soon and is being worked on right now I believe (already half of the packages are available in the PPA) it'll come out soon. I'm glad the Xubuntu team made the decision they made, and they created a great distro out of it.May 4, 2012
Although on the other hand, if you have a piece of software that is going to be used for up to two years, you want it to be as future proofed and modern as possible. But obviously 4.10 was released much to late to make it into the LTS.May 4, 2012
+Jebril Famile LTS gets bug fixes. LTS doesn't necessarily mean "stable": its just supported for a long term.May 4, 2012

LTS usually indicates a stable release, that's why you see many people only opt to install LTS releases. People are complaining about XFCE 4.08 like it's impossible to update and/or it won't come out in Xubuntu 12.10.May 4, 2012
