Great list of alternatives.  I think I'll need to cobble together 2 (maybe 3?) of these services to get the functionality I'm used to.  (for instance, I like feedly for many things, but i think it's terrible for reading long form articles. looks like it might be a solid option for that.)

Amanda Palmer, an American musician, delivered an electric talk about patronage in the internet age at a recent TED conference. The audience response was such that TED immediately (and nearly without precedent) edited and posted the video to its free website. It racked up over 1m views within a few days

I'd really like everyone that I know and care about to read this blog post and heed it's advice.

To maintain it's relevance, simply redesign Google+ every few months to make people come back, visit, and complain about the redesign on other social networks.

I need to spend some time comparing the quality of their libraries, but I'm juust about ready to say Rdio is better than Spotify. I really dig their recent redesign and they have better mobile apps.

The fact that this is the list of Windows XP's startup locations is absurd

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\Userinit
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
C:\Documents and Settings\{Username}\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
That is all.

Pro-tip: at your local supermarket / big box store, find the farthest shopping cart corral and park across from it (not next to it) every time.

* you'll park farther from the store. yes it's only a few extra steps, but every little bit helps, right?
* you'll waste less time and gas cruising around the parking lot looking for parking
* you'll never forget where you parked
* you'll likely be parked a good distance from most other cars, meaning fewer parking lot dings and scratches from other doors
* when you're finished, returning your cart to a corral is always easy
