We think technology should work for you—to be there when you need it and get out of your way when you don’t.

A group of us from Google[x] started Project Glass to build this kind of technology, one that helps you explore and share your world, putting you back in the moment. We’re sharing this information now because we want to start a conversation and learn from your valuable input. So we took a few design photos to show what this technology could look like and created a video to demonstrate what it might enable you to do.

Please follow along as we share some of our ideas and stories. We’d love to hear yours, too. What would you like to see from Project Glass?

How about... The general ideology of every company worldwide is completely wrong... There is no company in the world that has moral correct goals.

BIG NEWS ... Apache 2.4 is out and claims to beat the shit out of nginx ! http://www.serverwatch.com/server-news/apache-2.4-delivers-more-performance.html

There's little doubt that Apache can be as fast (or faster) than Nginx in limited configurations or for particular types of loads. What I'm not seeing in that article is a discussion of fast combined with scalable. In other words, it's not hard to be fast, it's not hard to be scalable. It's more difficult to be both. The comments in the press release discussed both, but seemed careful to separate them. To date, Apache has suffered badly in that arena and Nginx has excelled. Apache's mod_event is going to be the only way to achieve that goal (thread/process based models fail at scalability for mathematical reasons), but in the past, using mod_event has meant having to give up other Apache features, which usually means you end up with something sort of like Nginx, but with a somewhat more convoluted configuration and larger memory footprint. If 2.4 fixes that issue, they may be onto something. Certainly their enhanced caching features sound compelling.

I'll be curious to see the first benchmarks from third-parties arrive. Press releases are little more than advertisements.
