Great seeing John Wood at the Room to Read "summer" party in London! Congrats on hitting the 10 million kids helped milestone 5 years ahead of plan.

I feel privileged that all of us at Techbikers had a small part in that.

Scientists reverse aging in human cell lines and give theory of aging a new lease of life
http://t.co/FuZeYbi36a
Can the process of aging be delayed or even reversed? Research has shown that, in human cell lines at least, it can. They also found that the regulation of two genes involved with the production of glycine, the smallest and simplest amino acid, is partly responsible for some of the characteristics of aging.

The single most predictive factor determining whether someone started a company was perhaps less surprising: whether they had worked for a venture-backed company in the past. Working at Google was likely to turn someone into an entrepreneur. People who stayed at the same job a long time were unlikely to start companies, while people who had tried and failed to start one were more likely to succeed in raising venture capital on another try.

I'm excited to share our latest two investments in Lost My Name (lostmy.name) and Yieldify (www.Yieldify.com) - fantastic entrepreneurs and bright futures for these two companies
Congrats Avid on your great work on these!
The European arm of Google Ventures has taken stakes in two London-based start-ups, in the latest move for the technology group’s venture arm since it launched a fund devoted to European business last year. Yieldify, a marketing technology company,

In the music industry's hunt for royalties, no digital nook or cranny is too small to scour for income — even for the biggest hits. The songwriting royalties of one song that reached No. 1 around the world two years ago totaled $4.76 million, most of which came from the usual places: iTunes, ...

What happens when our computers get smarter than we are?
Artificial intelligence is getting smarter by leaps and bounds — within this century, research suggests, a computer AI could be as "smart" as a human being. And then, says Nick Bostrom, it will overtake us: "Machine intelligence is the last invention that humanity will ever need to make." A philosopher and technologist, Bostrom asks us to think hard about the world we're building right now, driven by thinking machines. Will our smart machines hel...

Immersing myself in the startup community in London
Introduction
I'm a General Partner at Google Ventures Europe.

Before GV, I was the Head of Google for Entrepreneurs Europe, supporting startup ecosystems and helping them grow. In 2012, I've started and led Campus London, Google's first physical startup hub, providing founders with networking, learning and mentoring access, from Googlers, investors and thought leaders in the tech world.

Prior to leading Campus, I was a strategic partnerships manager at Google, where I spearheaded several of Google's European commerce offerings including the launch of Google Shopping in Spain and Local Shopping in UK. Previously, I worked in a number of tech companies: I was Principal Product Manager of AOL Search in Europe, Senior Product Manager at Ask.com in San Francisco, Product Manager at Gerson Lehrman Group in New York and Team Leader at Shopping.com in Israel. Going back a bit, I co-founded a tech startup in Israel in 2003 and in 2005 I founded VC Cafe, a popular blog on early stage Israeli startups.

I have an MBA from London Business School and a BA in Business Administration, IT Management and Entrepreneurship from the Interdisciplinary Center (IDC) in Israel

I'm also a trustee of Up Europe and serve on the advisory board of BBC Worldwide Labs. I'm a frequent public speaker on startups and innovation.
Bragging rights
I created Techbikers (www.techbikers.com), a non-for-profit that brings together the tech community through cycling events, to support children's education in developing markets. So far in 2 years, we've raised more than £100,000 for Room to Read.
