Does your organization have $2M laying around for this? Organizations are used to paying for 'buckets of hours' or having to pay $500-$1000/hr for these incidents (like writing blank checks?), but there are organizations out there that include 'UNLIMITED INCIDENT RESPONSE' while being able to take advantage of the best detection services out there. You're just not having the right conversation(s)...yet. #seethebadguysbeforetheyseeyou

Good article, but would like to add to it. Here are some top items (no particular order) that lead to overworked security teams. Be nice;), we know we can go a TON of different ways here...just provoking some thoughts here.

- Excessive false positives (probably because their 'traditional' AV doesn't work)

- Outdated metrics/policies (paralysis by analysis to keep up)

- Limited to no 'threat hunt team' (read an article that only 17% of orgs have a hunt team)

- Lack of end user education/best practices

Trust is everything, we get it, but these conversations exist and these issues can be solved...you just may not be talking to the right people yet.

Great article on the top 20 SD WAN providers out in the industry right now. +C3 Technology Advisors was fortunate enough to provide some input into the article based on experiences that are customers have and will continue to see.

This article is from October, but still very relevant and made me think of our clients using 'SCADA like' devices whether it be in manufacturing plants or on production floors.

Are you protected from your SCADA device or 'SCADA like' device being altered? Can you prove it forensically?

This is why 'forensically proven' detection (MDR) is so important and most would argue that its more important than your multi-layered prevention approach. I don't mean automated detection either as that method will need prior knowledge of your environment. I'm talking a true and forensically proven detection posture that reduces dwell time to mins/hours vs the industry standard 99 days.

Spoiler alert - somewhere in the world, there is a hacker learning how to be steps ahead of this vulnerability and unfortunately, this goes for any OEM device that you can buy on the market, not just Cisco. #MDR

Much of C3's security practice is focused on MDR (Managed Detection and Response). Gartner sees this cyber-security sector growing at a very high rate through 2020. Most organizations simply don't have the vital combination of manpower, tools, and expertise to do MDR in-house.

VMWare to acquire Velocloud -- This is interesting because VeloCloud works with more Service Providers than any other SD WAN provider out there so it will be interesting to watch what VMWare does over the next 12 months.

Velocloud is definitely one of C3's favorites and leader in the SD WAN space.

The future of cloud computing is bright! These are all high reputable data centers, but it's going to be fun watching #Switch and what they do in West Michigan at the SWITCH Pyramid.
