It's been over 10 months since we started on our journey, but we're finally here! Last week, we became the proud owners of The Waterwheel Guesthouse in Ambleside, the heart of the Lake District. It's a new adventure, and we're really looking forward to building on and improving the business and its facilities.

Love the cloud over Windermere pic.
A break in the weather at last and a chance to nip out for a quick lunch on the hills.
We nipped up to Lily Tarn and had a splendid picnic amongst the dying bracken and the glorious views the mixture of sunshine and clouds.

A great feeling of history does seem to pervade the air though.
A different day out for us here at the Waterwheel. We popped up to Northumberland for a little trip out to the Ancient Capital city of Northumbria. Set in a beautiful spot even if there is little to see these days!

It was a a bit good!
What a day - barely see your hands down by the car. But this on top of one of the lowest hills in the lake district.

It's All Saints Day and the last day of the season.

To celebrate we're going to remember two of our favourite Saints; St Champers and St VinRouge.

And just because we love it I've baked a Seasonal Waterwheel favourite to send our guests out onto the hills with. Deliciously Autumnal homemade Parkin.

Lovely photo's of our favourite time of year. :-)
Julie took herself out this afternoon and had a grand walk out to Grasmere. She's caught the first hints of Autumn marvellously.
