Below is our press release for Papyrus 1.0:

BARCELONA, SPAIN -- FEBRUARY 25, 2014 --- Steadfast Innovation, LLC announces the release of Papyrus 1.0 which adds PDF features to the popular Papyrus natural note-taking app for Android. Starting today, Papyrus users can import, write, draw, and markup on PDFs using the power of Papyrus. Users can eRead PDFs and take notes, fill out forms, sign documents, grade papers, annotate slides presented on a connected TV or projector, and share marked-up PDFs through email, cloud storage, or with any PDF compatible apps on a device.

Papyrus PDF import works on Android tablets and phones. Users with active pen devices such as the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, Note 8.0, Note 10.1 2014 Edition, and Note Pro get an especially exceptional natural handwriting experience. Papyrus incorporates pen pressure-sensitivity, palm rejection, and the Papyrus signature “write with the pen, erase with your finger” feature. Plus, Papyrus continues to offer infinite page sizes and vector-based graphics so your notes look great at any zoom level.

“We have been thrilled with the reception of Papyrus since it first launched in Spring 2012,” says Steadfast Innovation, LLC founder Andrew Hughes. “People love the handwriting experience. Now they can use all the great features they love about Papyrus with PDF documents. And we are not done yet. We reserved the 1.0 label until the inclusion of PDF, and we still have much more on the way to keep Papyrus the best, most intuitive note-taking app.”

This version also adds sophisticated yet intuitive zoom level features such as fit to width, height, and screen, two finger double tap to jump to a specific zoom level, and remembered per page zoom level and scroll position across note sessions. Power users can even change the default zoom level and two finger double tap behavior for infinite and fixed size pages in the settings.

Papyrus for Android is available in Google Play and Samsung Apps. Papyrus for Windows Phone was released in Fall 2013. To download Papyrus, please visit

Papyrus is on display at Mobile World Congress 2014 at the Samsung Developer Exhibition in Hall 8.1, App Planet.

Papyrus released a new version this week.  The Google Play and Samsung Apps versions are now in sync with the same premium features (cloud storage, shapes, text, true eraser, and more).  I'm really happy with the user experience on everything from my Nexus phone and Nexus 7 to the Note and Note 10.1" devices with the active pen where Papyrus really shines.
