Empowering, Unstoppable, Daring
After graduating from a small liberal arts college in 2010, I entered an incredibly tough job market -- and landed my first career-making position within a month. Some of that was luck, but I'm also a huge believer that luck is the result of hard work, and I certainly put a lot of work into my job search.
Despite being fortunate enough to have a mom who was more interested in seeing me grow and be strong than she was in chaperoning me into adulthood, I still stumbled left and right. That's what I've decided your 20s are for, after all -- weaving a bit erratically, trying to figure out what the heck is going on and all. Anyway, when I realized how deep I was in and how tough the juggling act I'd just walked into was, I immediately turned to the blogosphere to try to give what little wisdom I'd acquired back to other graduates, specifically young women. The writing helped... and so did talking to other women who were struggling like I was.
Now, after 3 years, 4 day jobs, 1 semi-successful blogging endeavor, and a slew of adventures, boyfriends, mentors and travels, I'm starting a new chapter. World By Storm Consulting is my absolute passion come to life -- in the form of seminars, like-minded expert panelists and I are working with colleges and universities to start dialogues with soon-to-be college grads and, in the process, fill in the blanks between academic knowledge and the expectations of the post-campus world.
