Really great food, friendly mom and pop type restaurant. Super delicious ribs with meat falling off the bone. Quite satisfying. 10/10.

The food was hot and good. The owners treated my family and I like family. Very warm and caring folks.

Smoke ring only a sixteenth of an inch. Makes me think it's finished in the oven. The sauce tasted like doctored store bought. I wanted to give this spot a higher rating. The owners were great. It had that small-town institution feel, but the food was average. Not bad, but given the reviews I expected better

I had the sliced brisket sandwich & fries, this was absolutely the BEST BBQ sandwich that I have EVER eaten in my life. The sauce was just right, the meat was perfect & VERY tender. The fries are cut fresh daily & were fried to perfection. I will definitely be back.

From the North and happened to hear about this BBQ place called MAC's. The 3 of us Walked in and was greeted like part of the family. Pulled Pork and Sausage sandwich was outstanding, ribs nice crust and fall off the bone, brisket melt in your mouth, cole slaw just right not to runny, okra fried just right. The home made sauce topped it all off. We walked out with heads high and bellies full. Thank you and the Mrs for making us feel welcome.

This down-to-earth atmosphered barbecue joint yields a very home-town mom and pop feel with a big time operation vibe. With that being said, having sampled some of the best barbecue around Texas, I was particularly dissapointed with the meat here; especially given the phenomenal ratings that I had read. My taste-buds couldn't grasp at the authentic smoke flavor you yearn for when you bite down into home-town bbq ribs, my saliva glands had to work overtime because the turkey was a bit dry and my stomach is still a bit queasy from the fat filled beef I ingested. What you MUST go to this place for is there outstanding sides. I sampled the ranch styled beans and potato salad, and whatever this establishment lacked in entree, it made up for here--which is perfectly acceptable too; every Batman needs a Robin. This may sound like a harsher judgment then I intend for it to be but this place just didn't have the toatal package for me. Now, to answer the only question that holds any clout in a review; would I go back? No, I would not. BUT I would absolutely order sides from Mac's for a major gathering I may be having as they also do the courtesy of delivering.

My buddy and I have been Barbecuing for decades, he has competed nationally and won many times, I am more of an amateur – This is just to tell you that I know BBQ. This place is only open for lunch, so as we were looking for a place to eat (was looking for Tex-Mex) we saw Mac’s BBQ, we had always heard about it; in BBQ circles, people know this place it is supposed to be good and old. It is simply decorated and cafeteria style, but it is a BBQ joint, I did not expect anything else. It was perfect in every way!!! They have been around since the 50s and now I know why. I know most of the BBQ locations in Dallas and I have eaten at many of them, but as an enthusiast, I will have to say this is one of, if not the best BBQ in Dallas; sorry Sonny B, you are now a close second. The ribs were moist, with a nice crispy (not burned) crust; the brisket was moist and tender and not overcooked, the jalapeno sausage was not too fatty and yet delicious. This guy is a master. If you are in Downtown Dallas for lunch, you would be making a mistake if you go somewhere else for BBQ. I know I wont.

Food was AMAZING! The meat looked dry under the heat lamp, but was some of the most tender/moist meat I've ever had! Must try the Frito pie, it was great!
