This company is the epitome of a company that preys on the vulnerable. They changed their name to Schneider. Constant name changes are another reason shite companies like this continue to exist. When gas monopolies were deregulated, one of the arguments against was the fact that many vulnerable people would be sold on services they do not need or on prices that are unfair. Summit complys with those under $20,000 annual income and those over 70 years of age being allowed to opt out of sold services. This does not address those with low IQs and/or mental conditions that make them vulnerable to door to door sales. I have a friend who falls into this category. She works part time making more than $20k/yr, is under age 70, and has a under treatment mental condition. She was sold on a $15/mth carbon offset. She needs that like she needs a hole in the head. She signed with another company to start saving for a new furnace. A year later Summit's door to door salesman sold her on a new furnace along with gas at 23 cents per cubic metre and electricity. I caught this fact during the cooling off period and she was able to cancel. Imagine she was actively buying a new furnace from two companies simultaneously! Suummit sucks, chase off their sales person immediately when they knock at your door.

I'm being charged 400$ a month for my hydro by these useless pricks. They have scammed me and my child. I'm a single mom and they had someone come to my door and promise me the lowest rates. Where now I'm about to have my hydro cut due to their lies. Save yourself.

Knocked on my door at 8:30 PM and insisted that I get my energy bill for him. I refused. He then stated that he wanted my bill to "verify that everything was correct and to protect [me] from future energy cost increases". I again declined. He AGAIN got pushy with me and told me that I "am already a customer of Summit" (which I am not). I declined a third time and told him that he interrupted my supper. He then offered to come back the next day. I asked him to leave, and not bother me anymore, to which he replied "but you were already a customer".

Scammers. They came to my home trying to get my Enbridge account information, saying that they just wanted to "check my water heater", "make sure that it's EnergyStar", saying a lot of other false statements about my water heater and my current contract with Enbridge. They stopped only after I closed the door because there was no polite way to end the conversation.

The salesman from this company showed up today and before he could say anything, i said i was not interested. I even showed him the "NO SOLICITATION" sign written BIG on my door. He kept on pushing. I told him I don't mean to be rude and asked him politely to go elsewhere. He then threatened me that if he leaves, another person from his company will come again. I just closed the door on his face.

Don't sign on with this company! Bunch of scammers!!Their customer service is terrible. I originally signed on for a 5 year contract, Then I had to move before it was finished. I inquired as to the policies regarding breaking my contract and since they did not offer service to the location I was moving they told me they would waive the fees as long as I could prove I was moving. I paid to have my mail forwarded and then faxed them the receipt as proof that I had moved as per their policy. A year later I get a notice from a collection agency saying I owe Summitt energy 282$. I called to ask about the mysterious charge since I hadn't lived at that address for the last year. They said they never received my fax and that since it had been so long there was nothing they could do. They made no attempt to mail me an invoice or a final bill, which would have reached me since I paid for the mail to be forwarded. They made no efforts to facilitate my problem in any way just completely washed their hands of it. Now if I don't want my credit ruined I have to pay this company 280$ for energy I didn't use. I followed their policies and did everything they asked of me and still got screwed by them. At the end of it all they had the nerve to poll me and ask if I was satisfied with their service. Decidedly not! don't be sucked into this scam!

Total scammers and these guys are complete goons. Tried closing the door on these guys but the guy basically put his foot in the door and started yelling and harassing us.

Summitt Energy hasn't shared anything with you.

People are more likely to share with you if you add them to your circles.
