#Adidas is planning to deflect investor backlash concerning a recent spate of profit warnings by returning as much as EUR 1.5 billion to shareholders over the next three years. The share returns will mainly be financed by Adidas's free cash flow, with buybacks due to begin in the current quarter and reach completion by the end of 2017.

#Waitrose have today launched their own website solely dedicated to pet products – and are the first supermarket to have done so. Waitrosepet.com is in partnership with e-commerce brand Monster Pet Supplies, and is to sell a huge variety of over 9,000 products. These will be both Waitrose's own-brands and established names, and will include accessories for dogs, cats, fish and birds, and next year reptiles.

Australian shoppers stayed at home in August, a study from the Australian Bureau of Statistics that was released on Wednesday showed. Turnover rose only 0.1 per cent in the entirety of the month – well below market expectations. Forecasters predicted a 0.4 per cent sales boost, in line with July. The Australian dollar dropped below 0.87 cents after the results were made public.
