How Captain's Quarters Resort house keeping made our beds. Was 1/2 the sheets on the floor with the comforter thrown across it. Also they didn't take our trash out of the bathroom that day. This was after the day they never brought us our towels. We had to call around 8 to get some. The big burner on the stove didn't work, there was no hair dryer and the water in the kitchen and bathroom had a constant stream of water dripping. To say it was an experience is an understatement. This was a resort I loved but I don't think I'll be back. I would caution you before you book there.

My experience wasn't all bad. My family and I visited Myrtle Beach for the 4th (2016). The room was nice. I liked that they had real dishes you could use. The bed(s) were very comfortable. However, the bathroom was very small. I had my 3 month old daughter along and it was a little difficult giving her a bath b/c of the limited space. The biggest problem I had was with the elevator. It was better to take the stairs. It took forever then when it finally came it was hot. No a/c. I had my daughter's stroller so it was very difficult...

I have stayed at a lot better places. The rooms were clean, however, the were a lot smaller than expected. The bathroom where the shower and toilet were was tiny. There was very little storage space for our clothing. The pools were not what they advertised them to be. They were all very small, and none deeper than 4 1/2 feet. The sofa bed our daughter slept on smelled bad.I was not impressed and would not recommend staying at this hotel. We will not stay there ever again.

July 4th my family and I decided to take a trip to Myrtle Beach for the week. We first had rented a lovely condo but because we have kids we thought we would try renting a Hotel in stead. We thought we found the perfect place. We arrived on July 2nd around 7:30pm from a 17 hour drive pulled in the something out of a horror film. The parking lot was extremely small And becuase of the Holiday weekend almost completely full. We parked and went in. I approached the front desk a very friendly girl came and explained were we would be staying and how to use the pools and what to expect over the next few days. Then she dropped the bomb that we needed to get in our car and drive a little ways down the street and park on the left side of the building make sure too so we did not get towed. My husband asked why and she said we purchased the ocean front room and that was where it not in the main hotel. I told him not to worry about it and we left. We parked got most of our belongings out and walked a good ways to what looked like a run down apartment building. The halway smelled like something had died and when we got to the room which was on the end it looks like an old renovated apartment. My son had black hair all over his feet like someone brushed their hair and it was never cleaned. The ocean view was replaced by a fence and a pool. Our door to the pool was so close to the out side that when people were in the pool ultimately they were in our room waving to us. I screamed to my children and husband not to put the bags down on the bed or floor. I turned the light on in the bathroom that was so small you would be touching the tub if you had gone to the bathroom and there where cock roaches. A few dead ones and the others scattered. I yelled for everyone to get out of the room. We stood out side for a few minutes so I could figure out what to do. When I went to the desk it was almost like they knew. The at first only offered me 1/2 my money back now let me remind you we just checked in. Then she went the back to talk to the Manager that refused to come out and speak with me. They ended up giving me a full refund. I did have to threaten them. Thank God family members had also came to Myrlte Beach with us so we stayed with them. If not we would of had to go home becuase not one place had an availability. So the moral of the story is DO NOT BOOK With this Hotel!!! It really is a scam!!!

We booked the angled oceanfront room because of the updated look of the room in the pictures. They called on the morning of our arrival to say we were being "upgraded". The only upgrade was the view. The living area was old/dated, musty, and grimy. Just not my type of living arrangement, even if it's temporary. On the other hand, kids did enjoy the many pools, great location, friendly staff, and they did comp us for the room switch (would've preferred the updated room though). Food from the on-site restaurant was pretty good. Overall good stay but, disappointing at the same time!

First of all, this place has first class staff. However, that doesn't hide the fact that this place is overpriced for what you actually get. The rooms are outdated with old fixtures and the room had a funny smell. I traveled with my family and we had 3 separate rooms. After checking in, the other two rooms had to be switched 3 times because they gave them the wrong room type. This resort isn't handicap accessible and we had to carry the luggage cart down a couple of steps...very inconvenient. After a late dinner, we settled in our rooms pretty late. My sister in law and brother called me in the middle of the night saying they were leaving and going home, 8 hrs away, because they found bugs in their bed. They were livid and there was no stopping them. This totally ruined our family vacation and we hadn't taken one together in over 13 years. The next morning, my parents and I checked out, as well. Needless to say, we won't be back.
