Calling it a resort is laughable. The walls are incredibly thin and both guests and staff alike are loud 24/7. The rooms are dated, dirty, and dilapidated. House keeping does not come at any predictable time. The pools are disgusting; bandaids and sunflower seed shells were floating in them. Overall, one star is more than generous for this dump.

How Captain's Quarters Resort house keeping made our beds. Was 1/2 the sheets on the floor with the comforter thrown across it. Also they didn't take our trash out of the bathroom that day. This was after the day they never brought us our towels. We had to call around 8 to get some. The big burner on the stove didn't work, there was no hair dryer and the water in the kitchen and bathroom had a constant stream of water dripping. To say it was an experience is an understatement. This was a resort I loved but I don't think I'll be back. I would caution you before you book there.

I've stayed here twice a year since 2010 and always look forward to coming. I see a ton of posts about the "outdated decor" and "dated furniture" but let's be honest if you're coming to the beach for the hotel room you should just stay home to begin with. This place has a ton of pools and hot tubs, bowling alley, arcade, and more plus its sister hotel Hotel Blu is two doors down and you get access to the amenities there as well when staying at CQ. I've stayed in almost every floor and every type room they offer all have been decent unless you want to nitpick each little minor issue and they're working on updating some of the rooms as they go. You can't please everyone but CQ is perfect for me and my family as I sit here on my balcony typing this overlooking the Sea and we'll continue to book here as often as we can.

Absolutely hated this place can't believe they had no parking for the guest well they said they was full they wasn't. Room service sucks ran out of towels. Back to the parking there was free parking across the road until midnight so had to move car to the street then get up before 9 then move car back to parking lot. I'm sorry but never will my family stay here again!

We booked the angled oceanfront room because of the updated look of the room in the pictures. They called on the morning of our arrival to say we were being "upgraded". The only upgrade was the view. The living area was old/dated, musty, and grimy. Just not my type of living arrangement, even if it's temporary. On the other hand, kids did enjoy the many pools, great location, friendly staff, and they did comp us for the room switch (would've preferred the updated room though). Food from the on-site restaurant was pretty good. Overall good stay but, disappointing at the same time!

Had a king oceanfront room for 5 day stay. Room was clean however, no towel racks or hooks in the bathroom to hang your wet towels. Hairdryer did not work. No room service. Had to call for new towels & to have trash taken out. The "resort" hallways & floors are very, very dirty! Only 3 very small elevators (about 3' x 5'), could barely get the luggage rack inside. Its an old place in much need of a renovation! Try not to get a room over the pirate ship area because you'll hear kids screaming until 11pm when the pool closes. Walked into the restaurant & turned right back out, it didn't look clean at all. Overall, had fun at the beach but would not stay again & I do not recommend.

My experience wasn't all bad. My family and I visited Myrtle Beach for the 4th (2016). The room was nice. I liked that they had real dishes you could use. The bed(s) were very comfortable. However, the bathroom was very small. I had my 3 month old daughter along and it was a little difficult giving her a bath b/c of the limited space. The biggest problem I had was with the elevator. It was better to take the stairs. It took forever then when it finally came it was hot. No a/c. I had my daughter's stroller so it was very difficult...

Room looked nothing like advertised. Room was very small and we didn't have an ocean view as promised. Reservations said we had to book and pay for an extra day more than we wanted in order to get the room but when we checked out luckily they gave us a partial refund when we checked out. The free game of bowling really cost $4 per person because you have to pay for shoes. Restaurant had wonderful view but was very small. The elevators were tiny and took forever. We waited 20 minutes for elevators a few times. Only 3 or 4 people can fit at a time. Exterior looks much better than interior. Rooms don't match whats shown on the website. First and last time staying here.
