* UPDATE*** Layla and Scooter were both rescued by the SPCA of Southwest Michigan!  Thank you for keeping them together! Both dogs will still be available for adoption but they are no longer at risk of euthanasia.  If anyone had a lead on a potential adopter, please direct them to the SPCA on KL Ave.

Layla (Tan Female Pit Bull) and Scooter (Blue Heeler) were brought to our shelter by the owners after they were unable get them into rescue before their home was foreclosed on. Out of time and with nowhere else to go, the dogs are both here waiting for a new home who could take them together, or individually. Both dogs are about 10 years old and have been together most of their lives. Please consider giving one or both of these beautiful babies a warm home to spend the holidays in.

Some Thanksgiving foods are deadly! If you must give your dog a special treat this Thursday, please make sure it was intended for pets. Its better to spend $10 on a dog toy than $500 on a vet bill because your dog ate toxic food

We are open today! If you're coming in, please be careful as the roads are terrible at this time. If your business can wait until later in the week, that would probably be the safer plan. If anything changes and we close later in the day we will keep you posted right here! Stay warm and safe, and please check on your outdoor pets!

Officers will be cracking down on any animal found without adequate shelter during these horrid weather conditions and freezing temps. Make arrangements to bring your dog inside if you don't have straw or bedding for your dog house yet.
