Join us at Sofra — a Middle Eastern bakery and café located at 1 Belmont Street, right on the Cambridge-Watertown line. We offer sweet, savory, and contemporary twists on the traditional cuisines of Turkey, Lebanon, and Greece. Come take a seat on our kilim-lined banquettes and enjoy a bazaar of flavors: Whips and spreads from the meze bar; a tangy lamb shawarma with pickled turnips; a unique take on the traditional Turkish breakfast; a Persian-spiced donut or an ooey-gooey sesame cashew bite for a sweet treat.

The café’s store offers a wide array of house-made and farm-sourced preserves, prepared foods, packaged delights perfect for gift-giving, pantry staples from around the world, and carefully sourced spices and spice blends.

I am a foodie and I must say that this place is amazing. The tahini brioche with brown butter cream is out of this world! The lamb schawarma and the moussaka are a must try is you love lamb. The place is however very pricey for the amount of food you're getting and the seating is limited, especially on weekends, but as far as the food goes, I give it five stars!

Amazing spot. Just loved the entire experience. It's a cute cafe-- a great spot to meet friends. They have an assortment of delicious homemade pastries and a mix of mediterranean spreads and dips. All the foods I tried was amazing. There's a small local wine shop attached to the bakery. A unique and delicious find.

A five star Middle East restaurant, which preserved an awesome building, with an unbearably pretentious clientele. Well done, league of hipster Cantabrigians; you've successfully excluded me!

I always enjoy the food here. Crowded, sure. But quite tasty.

'm not sure whether this is a 3 or 4, but I feel like sometimes reviews inflates things, so I fell it is my duty to bring the average down a bit. In a vacuum I really like Sofra, food is good, drinks are fresh and tasty and I can walk to it! However, it's really expensive and the amount of food you get is pretty small. $9 for a breakfast sandwich that's like 4 bites. Overall its a great treat if you want to grab a coffee, tea, or homemade fruit drink and a snack, but my wallet can't handle it very often. If your's can, more power to you and I highly suggest going to Sofra.

The food here is simply incredible and the staff friendly and attentive. A great brunch spot so you have an excuse to try from the breakfast and lunch menu! Highly recommend the shashuka and any of the baked goods. Finding seating can be a challenge, as it is limited but if you're not in a rush and don't mind waiting a bit, then you'll be fine. Although cafe is in the title, it's not the kind of place to camp out with your laptop to work on your memoir or you'll get angry looks from fellow customers waiting for a coveted seat. There's also an organic wine shop connected to the bakery-what could be better?

Delicious stuff, though beware that getting a place to sit can be difficult.
