We had a pre-reserved, package-priced, romantic private dinner in a secluded back room. The room was decorated with rose petals leading a path to the table and spelling our names out on the floor. The room was lit by many votive candles on the floor, as well. We had a personal waiter, and ordered delicious selections of food from the menu of the evening. Several manager/supervisors came in to see if everything was OK several times, and three strolling musicians also came in and serenaded us with two songs. We brought-in our own bottles of wine and paid the nominal corking fee, instead of $100s for good wine at the restaurant. The entire evening was amazing! Three hours was included in the package; we ate too fast!

Beautiful hotel built into a former monastery. Facilities are nice and the restaurant is superb. The museum in the hotel contains interesting artifacts from the buildings history.

Absolutely gorgeous! My girlfriend fell in love with this place just walking around the gorgeous grounds and has now decided we are getting married there. Restaurant was beautiful, place is immaculate and decadent. If you don't stay the night here, at least go for lunch or dinner, or even just to walk around!

Restaurant only: After a tour of the museum we stopped here for lunch. Wow! It is as close to a 5 star restaurant as you will find in Guatemala. The wait staff catered to every need and the menu was beyond amazing. Hard to decide what to have. Chose the Raviolis. Great choice. Maybe the best raviolis I have ever head. Stuffed with a pumpkin mixture nuts seeds....so delicious. The dessert menu looked and was amazing! We were too full for dessert after lunch so we made a complete separate trip to come back and have dessert. Wow, Had the brioche and was in heaven. This restaurant is a MUST!

Antigua has been my jumping-off spot for exploring Guatemala since the 1990s. My sons and I have backpacked throughout Central and South America. We attended language school in Antigua and found this hotel by accident. It is behind a long wall on a quiet street. We noticed people going and coming through one small door and decided to explore the place. Walking through that door was the most amazing experience. We found ourselves walking along a shaded pool filled with rose petals. The hotel was incredible. I've been to 4-star hotels around the world and this is by far the most romantic. It beats Venice in the 1980s, and that is saying a lot. I have a fantastic memory of taking a date there, sitting in the courtyard at night drinking cocktails, and watching lava flow from the volcano under a sky so full of stars it looked like they were a splash of white paint. The food was incredible, but the history and restoration cannot be described. My wife just looked at some of my photos of the place and wants to go next Spring. The price today is $160 and it is a steal.

Absolutely amazing! You'd never know unless you step inside. First class hotel. First class amenities. The pool is gorgeous! The best food I had in Antigua. This hotel is an iconic example of how ancient ruins and modern architecture can coexist to form a uniquely symbiotic experience for guests. Even if I hadn't stayed here, I'd have come to walk the grounds and eat lunch. Or dinner, because it is beautifully lit at night!
