Absolutely gorgeous! My girlfriend fell in love with this place just walking around the gorgeous grounds and has now decided we are getting married there. Restaurant was beautiful, place is immaculate and decadent. If you don't stay the night here, at least go for lunch or dinner, or even just to walk around!

This is a place that reminded me of Downton abbey where we felt spoiled in comfort and back in time in The beautiful Antigua. Where We felt so wonderful and where everyone in the hotel made us feel so special. Thanks to all at Santo Domingo, where they have earned every Star. We are must likely to return<3<3<3

Antigua has been my jumping-off spot for exploring Guatemala since the 1990s. My sons and I have backpacked throughout Central and South America. We attended language school in Antigua and found this hotel by accident. It is behind a long wall on a quiet street. We noticed people going and coming through one small door and decided to explore the place. Walking through that door was the most amazing experience. We found ourselves walking along a shaded pool filled with rose petals. The hotel was incredible. I've been to 4-star hotels around the world and this is by far the most romantic. It beats Venice in the 1980s, and that is saying a lot. I have a fantastic memory of taking a date there, sitting in the courtyard at night drinking cocktails, and watching lava flow from the volcano under a sky so full of stars it looked like they were a splash of white paint. The food was incredible, but the history and restoration cannot be described. My wife just looked at some of my photos of the place and wants to go next Spring. The price today is $160 and it is a steal.

Absolutely amazing! You'd never know unless you step inside. First class hotel. First class amenities. The pool is gorgeous! The best food I had in Antigua. This hotel is an iconic example of how ancient ruins and modern architecture can coexist to form a uniquely symbiotic experience for guests. Even if I hadn't stayed here, I'd have come to walk the grounds and eat lunch. Or dinner, because it is beautifully lit at night!

It was years ago and it was breathtaking. Full of magnificent religious icons and luxury rooms. It is in the beautiful old city and you will feel privileged to have stayed in this historic monastery. Brilliant. I have never forgotten this experience.

This hotel may be beautiful. But the owner is very abusive of the staff. They work long hours without extra pay or days off.
