So, faced with some data loss, I took this as an opportunity to examine IRC clients OTHER than mIRC.  I always told myself that if I had to do it all over again, I'd probably avoid mIRC in favour of another IRC client.

It turns out, however, that literally every Windows IRC client either looks like a brain-dead UI addled with design cues from Windows 3.1, or is either abandoned or so experimental that it is nearly non-functional if you need highlighting, logging, scripting, and multi-server support.

mIRC, I wish I knew how to quit you.

That's fascinating,  I had an Atari 400 with cassette, but when I traded the Atari for my own C64, I went straight to disk.  I'd never heard of this "dual track" system, which is clever, and certainly beats the noise I heard while loading or saving my own programs on the Atari.  I don't think I had any commercial software for the Atari 400 that wasn't cartridge-based.

So, this just happened.  Am I morally obliged to set the winner free?

Seriously, Japan, what ... what?

The disturbing thing here is that this is:

1 - better than pretty much any visual kei I have ever heard (sorry, I know some of you love that, it's just not my thing)
2 - reminding me of Sleigh Bells first album, if you replaced the noise rock with metal and the cheerleader vocals with jpop.

Odd. If this was tweaked a bit it might actually be art.

Killer. Their denim looks garden variety though.

While viewing Neil Freeman’s United Kingdom, Centered ( http://fakeisthenewreal.org/oa/ ) , I was curious of what a similar treatment of North American regions would yield.

This one is potentially offensive in some ways.

These people collude with parking lot owners to engage in deceptive predatory towing, where the owners charge fees, and wind up calling to have the vehicles towed anyway, charging outrageous impound fees. The staff treat anyone victimized by their practices with disdain, and are combative and rude. While they may be perfectly nice to people who call them for towing, I would advise against putting money in the hands of people who operate in this manner.
