Sometimes it's the little things that make a big difference - and this post pretty much sums that all up, with great tips from Samar!

If there's one blog and one person I love writing for, it's +James Chartrand of Men With Pens.

If you've ever lost a gig after almost getting it - you're going to want to read this post.

I've read and heard some seriously bad advice over the years, but there's one bit of advice that's not only bad... it'll crush all your chances of reaching your goals, and it'll wreak havoc in your life.  I think every single writer out there should do what they can to avoid falling prey to it.

I know what it looks like: pro writers are rockets on greased rails. They slam out content, and it looks like magic.

But it’s not. When you see their reality (as I have - and I live it too), it’s obvious what the pros are doing that the hobbyists aren’t.

If you want to make money through writing, either by selling it to clients or using content to sell your stuff, this article will tell you what you need to know.

An actual client wrote down what he REALLY wants from his content writers. Pretty interesting stuff. Take a look and see if you agree with his perspective, from YOUR perspective as a writer.

You know what's interesting? I've been steadily raising my rates and nobody has questioned them. Not a single client.Y'know I primarily blog for clients now and we've talked about how there's a ceiling for how much you can charge for blogging. I honestly feel that ceiling's collapsing. It could be because I have my rates on my website, so only the clients willing to pay those rates get in touch.

Want to create a little bit of urgency in your copy - without coming off as pushy, sleazy or spammy? Here are some techniques that get your message across... and that let you sleep well at night, too.

Getting back to writing after someone you loved passes on can be incredibly hard, and it can affect our emotions to the point that we can't write anymore. I think this post discusses the topic gently - worth reading.

There's a Perfect Storm that all writers need to avoid. I'm constantly scanning the horizon and watching the weather - are you?  And if you've ever experienced this in your writing career, come tell the tale of your survival.

If you write - especially if you write for a living - you should check this post out. You probably need a therapist... and that's a GREAT thing!

Can't help feeling there was an even stronger headline:

"Don’t blog. At all."
