Personally I believe that "good enough" will win out over "better enough" and often use Khan Academy to support the argument. The problem may be that price/quality is a continuum and that the optimum point may be at price = $0 (but then there are many more variables in the problem than price and quality).

It had occurred to me that MOOCs were not a viable business operation (e.g. coursera) but might be viable for universities themselves (e.g. edX) - particularly as it is possible to get production costs down once the hype is over (moocs4all.eu). So I am curious to know what strategy change has taken place at edX (as I'm not convinced a significant change is required).
