Human failing would be a sad commentary on man's existence.
Forget doomsday asteroids, global plagues and super volcanoes. British theoretical physicist and cosmologist Stephen Hawking says we're facing a much more immediate threat -- and it's our own behavior. “The human failing I would most like t...

'Tis Too Early and Too Cold to Write: A Poem
'Tis too early and too
cold to write, but the fire within stokes the brain for thought. Dare, I touch pen to
paper and spill forth what is in the mind? No, better to get a
cup of coffee first and ponder before marking the paper. PFARR 2015

Love of Language
There are many things my
parents have passed down to me and every member of the family from recipes to a
corny sense of humor. One thing that I am reminded of today is the love of
language, words. My dad loved to look up words. He had a dictionary that he a...

It is cold and gray outside with a blistering wind to boot, but I am thinking of daisies and an early Spring!
I could care
less what Groundhog Phil has to say! I am anticipating spring! I am so over
gray, cold, blustery days, I can smell spring in the air, not really but I have
a good imagination and it will save me from the doldrums of winter cabin fever. The phot...

Happy New Year
Happy New Year 2015!  Yes, I know this is late. But two days after Christmas our household got the flu. We were faithful in getting the flu shot and mom even got the pneumonia shot, but it was to no avail. Mom ended up in the hospital and then a nursing hom...

Reading for Writers Article

Have you read the Paris Review lately? Now would be a time to pick it up. #readers #Writers #literary
We're tournament people, my husband and I. The way some people climb rocks or brew beer (I don't know: What do other people do?), we draw sloppy 64-berth brackets in coffee-stained spiral-bound notebooks then set to vigorous, regimented discussion, rationally whittling down the field until an ...

They are back! I caught a glimpse of the pheasants this morning.
Happy to see the pheasants back today !  Of course Tuff barked at them. Hope they will return.

STRAP ON THIS SMART BAND-AID, AND IT WILL LET YOU KNOW WHEN YOU NEED TO DRINK UP!

CONTRIBUTOR
by Low Lai Chow in New Products on Wednesday 30 April 2014

We decided it was time humans stop conforming to electronics. So we're making electronics conform to us’, is the declaration by MC10, which develops wearable high-performance electronics for everyday consumers beyond professional athletes.

So unobtrusive that the wearer forgets he or she is wearing one. one of these products is the Hydration Sensor, a band-aid like product that acts like a second skin to track real-time hydration levels, plus sends mobile alerts to notify the wearer when and how much he or she should drink. We've definitely come a long way, us humans, if we have trouble recognizing something as basic as thirst.

Introduction

What are the words to define who I am? Artiste, caregiver, colleague, confidante, encourager, friend, and writer of poetry to list a few.  The sum total of a person’s character is more of a mosaic of many pieces.  Birth, growth and development, experiences, environment, society, culture, and death. Memoir, a life’s story of a person’s existence.

Peggy Farr, 54, female, caregiver, sister, aunt, cousin, and great aunt these are the most precious descriptions on the mosaic of my existence.
