The fine people over at the Internet Archive have been so kind as to archive tons of back issues of Nintendo Power. At one point in time, I had all of these real issues – but there was a point where I felt I wouldn’t ever read them again. Of course, now I regret that, but at least we can refer to this to get our dose of “POWER”!

+Blizzard Entertainment  Can you start caring about what your player base really wants?  You have become a terrible pig of a company, shutting down a complete non-profit private server of people who cherish your games.

It only seems appropriate that with the recent release of Batman V Superman, that we see a Superman PC Mod project. This one is pretty sweet, for a few different reasons. From the killer components, the cape or the fake cinder block base, there are plenty of things in this build to drool over.

By now, most of our readers know what Brutal Doom is, we cover it quite frequently.  But, to those new here, Brutal Doom is a mod for the original Doom by SGtMarkIV that takes the original game and makes it more ‘brutal’.  It adds tons of new animations, gameplay enhancements and well… tons and tons of gore.  If you have never tried it and are a fan of the original Doom, we highly recommend you check it out.

But, today’s article isn’t about Brutal Doom specifically, instead it is regarding the same modder working at bring Doom 64 into the future using the same mentality as he did with the original Doom.

As you may have heard, the world was quite upset with the dull and uninspired artwork on the new Doom box. Apparently the gaming world wanted a deeper experience with the artwork. The Doom guy with a shotgun wasn’t good enough.

As many of you may have noticed by now, we have a great love of everything Doom related. So, when we stumbled upon this gem, we felt compelled to share it with you.

Unreal Engine user captain_slow48 has taken it upon himself to recreate the first map from the original Doom (E1M1) in the new Unreal Engine 4.

Remember games like Pokemon card game and other RPG type games on old consoles (like Gameboy, Gameboy Color, Gameboy Advanced, etc…). Well Youtuber Roflstone sure does and mixed those memories with the current top dog online card game, Hearthstone. Check out the video below to see what it may have been like on your old handhelds.

Over on Indigogo, Sir Clive Sinclair started a campaign to get funding for his company “Retro Computers” so they can create and produce their handheld version of the computers he helped design and create in the 80’s. The computers were from Sinclair Research, and the models included the classic ZX81 and the ZX Spectrum.

For a short time on Steam, you can get Golden Axe, Jet Set Radio and Hell Yeah! Wrath of the Dead Rabbit free. It is part of the first round of prizes for the Make War Not Love promotion that Steam is running.

To take advantage if these freebies, head to any of those games linked above and press the “Install Game” button. This will attach all three of the games to your account and you can install and play for as long as you want! It isn’t real clear how long these games will be available for free, so don’t delay in adding these to your account.
