Due to significant road closures associated with Inaugural activities in the Washington, DC area, Commuter Bus Service will operate a modified schedule on Wednesday, January 18 – Friday, January 20, 2017. Overview of these changes are list below:
Note: Baltimore and ICC Routes will operate as regularly schceduled. WMATA Metrorail WILL NOT honor Commuter Bus passes.

Wednesday, January 18 - Washington, DC Routes morning service will operate as regularly scheduled; Afternoon service (including mid-day trips) will not be permitted into the Washington, DC area and will thereby board passengers at designated Metrorail Stations

Thursday, January 19 - Washington, DC Routes will terminate and board passengers at designated Metrorail Stations

Friday, January 20 - Washington, DC Routes will operate on a limited “S” schedule at designated Metrorail Stations

Effective Monday, January 16, 2017, from 7:00 AM until 5:00 PM., the following streets will be closed for the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Parade:
• W. Franklin Street from Greene Street to Fremont Avenue (Access to westbound US 40 ramp will be maintained.
• Eutaw Street from Dolphin Street to Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
• Preston Street from Madison Avenue to Howard Street.
• Madison Avenue from Martin Luther King Boulevard Jr. to Dolphin Street.
• Baltimore Street from Martin Luther King Boulevard Jr. to Poppleton Street.
• Fremont Avenue from W. Baltimore Street to W. Fayette Street.
• Southbound Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard from Eutaw Street to Lombard Street.
• Pennsylvania Avenue from Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard to W. Preston Street.
• The northbound Left Lane of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard from Lombard Street to Eutaw Street.

#TBT On January 19, 1987, MTA opened the Northwest Bus Facility and Maintenance Division on Hope Drive near Wabash Avenue. The Northwest Bus Division employs 328 people, including 316 bus operators who cover 25 MTA Local Bus routes. Happy 30th Birthday, Northwest, and a shout-out to all the ladies and gentlemen who serve and have served there! On January 19, 1987, MTA opened the “new” Northwest Bus Facility and Maintenance Division on 4410 Mt. Hope Drive, off Wabash Avenue in northwest Baltimore. Monday, January 16 MTA MARC Train will operate on the "R" schedule on all three lines in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Only trains with an "R" under the train number in the Camden and Penn Line timetables and Brunswick Line trains listed in the special grid on the right side of the timetable will operate. In addition, some trains will make additional stops when operating on the "R" schedule as noted in the timetable grid.
