Get ready for lots of pink eyeshadow looks coming for spring. This is a look that really gained momentum on fashion catwalks and translated to street looks. What is interesting is that the new shades of pink have been carefully tested on a wide range of skin tones to look flattering. In the past, pink shadows really emphasized any red veins in your eyes and made you look a little sickly. No more. These pinks are brightening and cheerful. Here is the spring makeup look from YSL, a great example of a modern pink.

Here's a sneak peek at YSL's spectacular Spring Collection. It's called "The Street and I" and takes inspiration from street graffiti. This is the star palette: Couture Palette Collector "Keep An Eye on Me". It arrives on counters in January. If you love it, be sure to be quick. YSL's last colour collection sold out in 6 days!

It's always interesting to see who collaborates with MAC Cosmetics on limited edition collections. I thought it was genius for the artistry brand to tap iconic photos by Helmut Newton. There are a trio of nail lacquers, retro matte liquid lip colours, eyeliner, upward lash and an eyeshadow. palette. It's a sophisticated colour story.

MAC's new Spellbinder Shadow contains some really interesting science. The black, ionized pigments are magnetically charged, fusing the loose powder together so it maintains its form and dimension. It comes in eight dark and dramatic shades.

I love this photo of celeb makeup artist Lisa Eldridge working in her London studio. She's recently created 50 new shades of Lancome L'Absolu lipstick to mark the 25th anniversary of the iconic lip product.

Here's a first look at the holiday edition of Givenchy's popular Very Irresistible Givenchy fragrance. It's packed with rose notes and some effervescent top notes to give it a little kick. The bottle looks like it has been dipped in snow. A great holiday gift idea.

Lucia Pica, Chanel Global Creative Makeup & Colour Designer has taken an interesting approach to creating the brand's spring colour collection. She's taken Coco Chanel's five favourite shades: red, black, gold, white and beige - and reimagined them in modern versions for 2017. Chanel's use of colour was always unexpected and elegant, and Pica has worked to infuse this approach into beauty. For example, Rouge Noir can be worn on the lips for spring. It's traditionally saved for cold weather months. White and beige are reworked for nails. Texture takes centre stage with these eye palettes that combine sheer, sparkling, matte and silky formulas. It's restrained and modern.

Very dry skin is a common skincare concern during Canada's long and frigid winters. And while adding a room humidifier is one of the best solutions I've found, there is another one just as good: facial oils. After cleansing, gently massage a drop of facial oil like Clarins' Blue Orchid Oil into your skin. Then apply a very hydrating moisturizer like Clinique's Moisture Surge for very dry skin. I've found that the facial oil can really help solve dry skin. And no, it doesn't cause acne flare ups. These oils are formulated to soothe and moisturize skin.

I live in Maine and winter is horrible on your skin!!! I use Avena Botanical Organic Rosehip Oil along with my evening skin regiment. It has truly made an improvement in the tone and texture of my skin...Also I've added the CLARINS Hydra-essentiel hydrating serum morning and evening and it's wonderful!!!

It's hard to believe that Guerlain's Meteorites will be celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2017. The illuminating powder has found a new generation of beauty fans who love how it instantly adds radiance to any complexion. The science behind the pearls is quite extensive and the small tins are actually filled by hand in France. Here is the holiday edition with the delicate graphic motif on the cap.

I've just spotted one of the best Autumn gift-with-purchase items: Versace umbrellas. This men's umbrella is free with any purchase of a large Versace men's fragrance at Hudson's Bay stores in Canada while supplies last. What makes it special is it was designed in Donatella's design studio in Italy where she oversees all the Versace accessory collections. The release clasp on the handle is a silver Medusa, the emblem of the Versace brand. It's worth checking out.
