Former journalist (Kansas City Star & Times of London), professor of Journalism (Kansas State University, Iowa State University). Lifelong writer, mostly journalism, some academic articles, until retirement. Since then have published my first short fiction (two stories in The Sewanee Review) and my first book ("Deaths on Pleasant Street: the Ghastly Enigma of Colonel Swope and Doctor Hyde," Truman State University Press). I have been twice married and twice divorced; have four children and two grandchildren. Have traveled extensively. I am a Democrat of the leftish persuasion and an Episcopalian.
