My first stroll across the #brooklynbridge  and it was a cold night to do it for sure. I took a tripod but never knew how much the bridge actually shakes from the traffic below. Luckily it didn't shake enough to ruin any of these longer exposures. The  #manhattan  financial district in the background. #nyc   #newyorkcity   #nightphotography

A dramatic sunrise at Great Falls, VA. This was one of those mornings where it doesn't feel like there will be anything special, but then the color just pops up out of nowhere.

A dragonfly in the sunset. I had to lay down flat on my belly to take this shot. The dragonfly kept taking off, then landing again so I waited and waited. But I started to smell something terrible. So I look forward and about ½ meter in front of me is a big dog turd....the joys of getting down low to capture a shot. Taken along the Patuxent River in Calvert County, MD, USA.

We are still surrounded by prejudice more often than most of us realize. Every flavor of race, sex, orientation, and religious affiliation (or lack thereof) has it. Every human owes it to their species to become more adept at recognizing when we encounter prejudice not only in others, but also in ourselves. And most important of all, we must be brave in confronting it. Doesn't matter if it's in public, with friends, with family, or even in church, we have an obligation to help those who are unable to see that fault it in themselves. But in doing so, we must remember that none of us is perfect.
