Rice was horrible. they gave me an avacado, not guacamole? Old Lettuce. Refried beans from a can, i am sure. carne asade was ok. tortillas were store bought. they didn't even have Sangria. no coke either, just pepsi. ahhhhh
Response from the owner - 2 months ago
We ensure that we make everything here from scratch, Kirt, so I'm surprised that your beans and your tortillas tasted store bought to you. It definitely doesn't sound like you caught us at our best, and for that I apologize. I hope we'll have a chance to show you what we're really about sometime in the future! -Matteo

The food was okay, nuthin to call home about. I thought the food was pretty expensive for Mexican food. Its hard for me to understand how quality Mexican food is more than $10. As well, I thought the decor didn't match that of a Mexican restaurant. Every room had a different theme and none of it said MEXICAN FOOD! As well, what is the deal with no music, we were in there for lunch and it was so quiet, I could hear the peoples conversation that was all the way on the other side of the room! I hear they have a good happy hour, I want to give it a shot. Las Brisas, you have one more time to impress, let's see if you bring your A game!!!

We're absolutely ready to bring our A-game, Damion, but I want to take a chance to clarify a little -- we're actually a Latin-themed restaurant, so our decor and menu share American Southwest, Mediterranean and Spanish influences. With that in mind, hopefully your next visit will be a little closer to your expectations. See you next time! - Matteo

The ribs are extremely good, tender and a lot of them too. They come with almost enough sauce but a little more would be perfect. Their verde wasn't very good or interesting. Their paella was a little off, I think some of the mussels may have been bad. They also have very good house margs. I went for brunch once and that was pretty good too. The setting is really nice. I like the tables chairs and decor except for the indoor fireplace which seems out of place to me. This would be a good date place.

Jeremy, it's great to see that you were such a fan of our ribs, but I wish you'd loved the paella just as much. As far as your mussels go, please know that we only use the freshest ingredients. We'd love to have you back to show you how great that dish can be! - Matteo

Good Mexican food and big portions. Service can be somewhat slow at times and sometimes the servers can be difficult to understand.

I've been told that this place is amazing but the customer service isn't too great. So I decided to try my luck and I guess I will never know if it's good or not because the customer service is that bad. At first no one was even there to greet me, then I sat at the bar for 5 minutes when the bartender decided to grace me with her presence She couldn't even get me a menu herself so she yelled to someone else to get it. Then proceeded to ignore me. If you're at work put your phone away! Don't sit in front of me while you're supposed to be tending the bar and talk on your phone so that I can't even order and I'm looking at you. I got up and left. I'm sure it's a great place but obviously they need to hire new people.

I am sorry and shocked to be hearing about this, Tawnie, but I'm glad you brought it to my attention as this is unacceptable. You should feel welcome from the moment you walk through the door. I'll be speaking with the staff about this immediately, and I can only hope you know I'd love another chance to show you what we're really all about. - Matteo

My daughter and I had dinner last Saturday night at Las Brisas that became a memorable exxperience. Ever since I spent a few days in Barcelona falling in love with the paella at the Olympic Beach restaurants, I had been looking for somewhere in Denver for paella. A number of restaurants listed it on their menus, but they didn't have the right keys to good paella listed -- seafood, sausage, chicken, saffron rice being most important plus cooked in and eaten from a low cooking pan. Las Brisas had the formula and I found the real paella i had been seeking. One surprise was the mussels which were the largest I have ever seen, and still were tender and flavorful at the same time. Other seafood included shrimp, scallops, octopus rings, chunks of white fish and more. The service was prompt, attentive and knowledgeable. All in all, the meal was one of the finest I've had lately and also reasonably priced for all the ingredients and the work that mist go into its preparation.

Bill, I'm so happy we could recreate the paella you loved so much in Barcelona -- hope you've had a chance to come back for another plate! - Matteo

We had a late lunch there a couple days ago. Every aspect was superb. The beef in the beef burrito and beef soft taco was superbly prepared. I am often disappointed in what restaurants offer as enchilada sauce. Not here. The sauce on my cheese enchilada was perfect. Of particular note was their jalapeno clam chowder which I will rate as one of the best soups I’ve ever tasted. The service was perfect.
