Completed the Wachau 2017 marathon in 4h 15min 05sec.

Some notes:

- it wasn't so hard as I had feared, although the weather could have been nicer
- carried with me and ate 4 GU gels, each 100 cal
- had only water, Isostar and a few bananas at the water stations
- also carried a +Huawei Nova 2 phone and a Watch 2 smartwatch (fully charged at the beginning of the race)
- the watch ran out of battery after ~4.5h, but the touchscreen became unusable already at ~35k when the rain got heavier
- the phone had 60% of the battery left after the race, it was running +RunKeeper and +Google Play Music for most of the race
- Runkeeper stopped working after 35k (maybe because the watch stopped working and somehow brought down the whole app)

#quiz

Generate word forms that have at least 3 different lemmas (i.e. corresponding dictionary forms) that are substrings of each other. (So far, I've found one in Estonian, by stumbling on it in Google Translate. Will publish it in 1 week.)

Is there a way to have the keyboard switching button (the one with the globe icon) show up, if just one language has been selected for Gboard?

It seems that the globe button appears only when at least 2 languages are selected. However, it would make sense also with a single language, as there might be other keyboards installed that the globe button could be used to switch to.

- "See, kas me saame enda tehnikavidinatega eesti keeles rääkida, sõltub täielikult suurfirmade suvast."

[kommentaar: Ei sõltu ju täielikult, sest ise saame vabade/tasuta platvormide (Raspberry Pi + Kaldi + EstNLTK + EKI ja TTÜ mudelid) peale lihtsa vaevaga (st jootmisest ja keeleteadusest suur teadmata) omi väikeseid firmasid luua.]

- "See ressurss, mis on Google’il kõnetuvastuse tegemiseks on aga täiesti teisest kategooriast, lisaks puuduvad eesti keeleteadlastel sellised võimalused enda kõnetuvastuse kättesaadavaks tegemisel, nagu seda on Google’il."

[kommentaar: jah, Google'il on rohkem arvutusvõimsust ja võibolla ka rohkem eesti keele (kõnetuvastuse) vastu huvi tundvaid inimesi, kui Eestis, iseasi, kas see annab olulise eelise heade/kasutatavate mudelite treenimiseks. Poole aasta pärast saab näha... Kättesaadavus on mitmeti defineeritav.

Every couple of years I'm checking if Google Translate has learned to translate the Estonian words "kähehäälne" (whiskey-voiced) and "koha" (the fish Zander) into English. It still hasn't. Instead of adding these words to the lexicon, Google applies grammatically unjustified methods of "delete umlaut" and "ignore morphology" to get these words somehow translated. E.g. "kähehäälne" becomes "kahehäälne" (two-voiced?) and gets translated to "bilingual"; "koha" is turned into "koht" ("place") and/or "köha" ("cough").

Meanwhile more Estonian-to-X translation systems have been created (6 known to me are listed below, of these Apertium does only Estonian-Finnish). Screenshots show the translation of a short and syntactically simple sentence (Det Adj Noun TrVerb Noun) "Iga kähehäälne laulja sööb koha." ("Every whiskey-voiced singer eats zander."). All systems fail in confusing and/or funny ways.
GF gets plus points for getting the fish right, although hallucinating a specific species is unjustified.
