Batteries made of the metal vanadium have the potential to transform electrical grids and our ability to make use of green energy such as wind and solar power, CBC's David Common reports.

I'm a creature of habit and it's not very often I venture to a new salon but my salon didn't do Keratin treatments. The salon is a hidden gem in Korea Town and a respite from the hustle/bustle of the the city. Helayna is a DOLL. Very warm and friendly, and it was a pleasure talking to her. First time ever so did not know what to expect. She walked me through it and answered all questions I had, and even some I didn't! There was no hard sell about anything other than what I was booked for i.e. products. She really knew what she was doing and the results were amazing. I will go back to her and only her because she is fabulous. You should also!

I cannot speak highly enough about the vets and surgeons there. For those who say they want to talk money, they are in a business and it's not a free clinic. The care and attention to detail my cat Samantha and now my dog Asta has received has been extraordinary. If you want to go to vet that is very well priced go to the Humane Society on 59th and 2nd Avenue. An appointment there is 30 as opposed to the usual vet fees of 75 just to see your pet.

For someone who doesn't drive, I don't have government ID so it's hard to get into many buildings in NYC. I could get an ID card from the DMV, but it take several hours and three weeks to receive. The extra money I paid, was worth it because time is money and I didn't want to waste it standing on lines. Everyone at Express Passport were really terrific and very patient with any queries. It was a very smooth transaction and the passport/card arrived on the exact day they said it would. I was very impressed and would certainly recommend their services.

I have been going to Butterfly for years and she is amazing. She is the only hair stylist/colorist I trust my hair with as it's very tricky. Been to many high-priced salons who have totally screwed it up. The general atmosphere of the salon is great, it's very open/airy that makes it very relaxing experience.

I'd like to tell my personal story of how they go above and beyond. I've never had a dog before and rescued one over a year ago. Walter's had this great deal of just a wash, toe clipping etc for 35.00 plus tip. I was very specific, did not want my little Asta cage dried nor put in a cage til she was picked up which they complied with. My second visit the lovely Lindsay pointed out that the groomer noticed a lump on her side that had not been there before and I should have it checked out. I did and it turned out it was nothing. BUT when doing a thorough check up on her body, it was discovered she had breast cancer. If they had not given me the heads up on the lump, I would have waited til a year for her yearly appointment and the cancer probably would have spread. They literally saved her life.
