When Woody's won Best of Boston for pizza from Boston Magazine a few years back, the regulars were shocked. Not that we disagreed, but we just had no idea that no one knew about our little neighborhood joint. But the write-up got it right -- calling it Boston's real Cheers. Almost everyone is a regular, and the staff and owners all feel like a family. The tap list always has a handful of quality fresh local beers and the wood-fired pizza is a hybrid of real neapolitan pizza in italy and the american california style. Barbecue chicken and white clam are my favorite varieties, but I usually order mushroom, italian sausage and fresh basil and am in heaven. Highly recommend the daily soups, as well. And, if you're not in mood for pizza, the kitchen has a full range of entrees that are more than your standard chicken parm afterthought

The pizza's here are pretty good and when you get a table, they give you a cool "pizza-man" to free up space on the table. Unique beer menu features some local and craft options. You'd think that based on it's location, there would be a ton more college kids, but fortunately that usually isn't the case.

Good pizza, but very rude servers. Wouldn't go again.

I LOVE Woody's! I have been going for years. They have amazing pizza and the staff is so friendly!! One of my favorite spots for a beer and some food before the Sox game : )

This is another of our local go-tos. The brick oven pizzas are tasty, and the salad with fried goat cheese is also great! The beer list is good and always has a few local brews on tap.

I arrived at Woody's looking to have a good beer, some food and watch the Memphis v. Tennessee basketball game. After waiting 10 minutes to be seated (immediately in front of the door-terrible draft), our waiter came to take our drink order. My girlfriend ordered her drink. As usual, we were asked for I.D. She was born in the U.S. and grew up in Vienna, so she used a U.S. passport. This is where the problems started. The waiter insisted that both my girlfriends Florida I.D. and UNITED STATES PASSPORT were FAKES! Who fakes a U.S. passport complete with multiple customs stamps, holograms, etc.?!?!?!?! At this point I tried pointing out all the authentication markings on the passport, but the waiter clearly had gotten himself in over his head and couldn't swallow his pride. USE SOME COMMON SENSE, WOODY'S!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
