Inspired by the work of other Ghostbusters fans, I've begun work on my own Ecto Containment Unit prop. The body will be .330" plywood and 3/4" pine. I'm aiming for as nice an ECU as I can build on a small budget AND I want to make it light, so it can be transported to AZGB events.
I plan on normalizing the wood grain with sanding, putty, and fiberglass resin or other resin. The resin should also yield a very smooth finish which can be painted to simulate painted steel.
Of course, I'm open to any suggestions or input any of my prop-building friends may have. :)
I'll update as this project progresses.
