My first experiment building a (Alphonse) Mucha-like (photo-)illustration.

Some other experiments in a prototype gallery I've been kicking around for promoting a new service set as both photo retoucher and for photo restoration services HERE > http://michaelmaersch.com/skunkworks/index.html (The version I have posted here, at my 'Skunkworks' page is my 'Final' version.)

And to NOTE: The figure I used here (atop one of my own stock photos of monsoon clouds we sometimes get here Summertime in Phoenix) is an original stock photo shared by 'Gemma' who posted it for use at her Deviantart page > http://dazzle-stock.deviantart.com/

Hey Rim, I'm only now getting the opportunity to get caught up on everything going on since the start of the new year and came upon this new work of yours. I must tell you it is perhaps the best photo-illustrations I have seen you do EVER. Really. The large versions (in the slideshow here) look almost like "paintings". All your hard work and non-stop experimentation is really paying off. Congratulations!

I have just completed a series of instructions for using Lightroom in building yourself a 2014 calendar that fits inside specialty “CD ‘jewel’ cases”. The link I provide you here is a ‘Resources Page’ that will supply both the requisite Print module template and 12 calendars to use with it, links to each of the screencast videos explaining the process and relevant options, calendar examples and a couple of extra pages addressing some things I decided to edit-out of my screencast series.

A “gift for the Holidays”? Well yeah; but even better yet these things have the potential for being the equal of that all-too-common portfolio website – at least these tiny, useful objects have the likelihood of communicating with potential clients every day(!) instead of having examples of your best work buried in some browser-bookmark-farm.

And by the way, if you find this project and its package I put together worthy of mention please take the time to “like” it, “pin” it, or however you prefer to pass it along to others. I’m quite serious when I say these tiny calendars look remarkable – ESPECIALLY when generated on a color laser printer.

Totally THE BEST Valentine's gift! (Only 6 months worth of shopping days left...)

BIG Hint: I would LOVE to get one of these soon-to-be-released "Petzval" lenses for my Canon camera Sweetie! (Please, please, please, please, please.)

Knute Gingrich waxes lovingly about "American Exceptionalism". I've never quite understood whatintheworld he's talking about. (Perhaps it's all rolled into his plans for a "man"ed Space Station on Mars – or sometin' like dat...)

However, I think THIS is a great illustration of "American Exceptionalism" a good friend of mine (who is a designer and a Mac tech) sent me not so long ago: http://steampunkworkshop.com/daveveloz.shtml
