I gave the first two "retroactive" issues of Wonder Woman a try. The '80s one was terrible. The sexism from both sides were so extreme and could have been funny if done well, but it wasn't. The '90s one was better, but left me bored because it seemed to be targeted at a much younger audience (well, it is a comic book =p) and was about a girl club versus boys only club. Y'know? Waiting for the JLA reboot in September to see how that'll go.

Wonder Woman turned out to be one of the pleasant surprises of the reboot, of course. Azzarello -- who's best known for his gritty crime books, but who's married to Jill Thompson and is thus hardly unaware of how "female subjects" in comics have been dealt with over the years -- has turned in an amazing story. This is almost certainly going to be my favorite Wonder Woman story ever, if the first installments are anything to go by.

Went to pick up a preschool application and asked about the dress code, if any. The reply: No superhero shirts if possible because boys tend to act them out. Heh, I had to laugh. (Only shirts you'd have to worry about with my kid are pirate or shark ones.)

Thanks for the link, Damla! My husband will appreciate that one. He's been talking about setting up basic D&D games for our toddler (who is also 4, too).

I enjoy seeing nearby posts on the G+ mobile app, but including the street that I'm posting from makes me uncomfortable so I rarely use the feature myself. I'm just sitting at home with no interest in the show my husband is watching while keeping my feet warm in his lap. You don't need to know what street I'm doing that on.

Msnbc.com has posted that their page will be yanked soon (to move onto the new pages G+ has for businesses/celebrities). Al Jazeera has already been removed. Mashable News may not be far behind. Just FYI if you want to follow these two people through the transition.

Google+ has pulled down +Breaking News as part of its shift to new brand pages, so +stephanie clary and I will be posting breaking news through the transition. We lost around 18k followers, but we're looking forward to Google's new product, hopefully coming soon. As the first news account on G+ (besides +Mashable News) we thank you for all your support! (Please feel free to share.)

Just found this amusing/informative on the hard cap for circles. Shatner was actually a suggestion for me from G+!

Except you don't have to "like" a page to get to call them that. =p

Slowly saving up money for my next photography purchase (don't want to spend the rookie tax on cheap gear). Debating which item to get first -- a good tripod or a fast lens that will take good pictures in low light -- since the holidays are creeping up. The tripod is great for family photos at Thanksgiving and Christmas, but the fast lens would be good for pumpkin patch and indoor school plays. Decisions, decisions!

His tripod section of his tutorial about the necessity of carrying a tripod made me laugh. "Whaaat? You don't want to carry one? It's a great thief deterrent! You can beat them up with it! Get a tripod!"

I've spent the last several days scouring over other photographers on G+, their tips, links to articles to improve photography, blah blah blah. The one thing they never tell you? You need to clean your damn house. (I had to delete a photo of my cat because there was a red thong underwear hanging off the dresser in the background.) =p

I WON! I WON!! WOO HOO!

The challenge of the day was "pet pics" so I took a picture of my black cat, Lucky, with their iPhone app (www.PopBooth.com) and submitted my entry. I really wanted their "The Fuscia is Now" t-shirt because I thought that was so witty and creative. (Plus I love their apps.) I'm so stoked. Lucky is getting an extra can of wet food tonight! He was an incredibly good sport with me putting the camera in his face repeatedly.

FYI, PoPBooth was created by those responsible for Postagram (www.postagramapp.com), which I also highly recommend. Available on iPhone and Android.

My favorite wallpaper for my iPhone (the artist also offers Cerebus and other designs). I'm having a hard time deciding on the color of my next iPhone case -- whether it's going to be the pretty purple that I've had my eye on or a nice white to go with the awesome N7 theme.

What?

Hey, I know the news of the G+ app for iPhone is spreading like wildfire, but I am linking to this article for those who don't have an iPhone because it has screenshots of how the app looks on the phone. For those who want to compare the Android app to this one.

Introduction
Hi, I'm Jennifer Yarbrough. I have a sister-in-law with the exact same name (what are the odds!) so sometimes I go by my maiden name instead. (Secretly I just like it better.) My gamer names include Amy Grendel and Beli, depending on which community you know me from.

I am an amateur photographer that is still fiddling around with manual settings on my Canon Rebel XSi, which is intimidating, but empowering. I upgraded to a dSLR a couple years ago because I needed a camera that could keep up with my hyperactive son. He was basically a blur on my point-and-shoot. From then on, I found that I really enjoyed taking candids of other people, to capture little slices of life as they went about their day. I love being able to follow other photographers on G+, to see their gallery of stuff that's interesting to them.

I also do the occasional digital art as a hobby. Not as often as I'd like, but I have a good friend who nudges me to sign up for themed art exchanges every now and then. This keeps me from getting too rusty and allows me to feel like I've accomplished something special when I look at my finished projects. I'm never gonna be a good cook, but hey, I can make a nifty wallpaper!

Currently I'm a stay-at-home mom, which is the hardest job I've ever had. It definitely has its own rewards, but boy, there are days when the kid and I suffer from cabin fever. Madness. They're only little once so I try to capture those fleeting moments on camera before school beckons my toddler and I'm back to a 9-to-5 once more.
