Really liking this keyboard, almost spot on. My only gripe is the bottom row options don't give me a layout that includes a shortcut key for symbols (I hate swiping) and a full stop key. The New Generation one is almost there but it has 2 keys for the apostrophe. Could one of them be a full stop?

His mention of the nuclear powered aircraft was a clear side swipe at the thorium LFTR reactor, which has it's origins in nuclear planes. It is based on fission but offers many advantages over fusion and has a much better chance of actually working. China expect to have their LFTR operational in 10 years, and if successful would provide the planet with power for probably millions of years.

I can't help but think fusion is a massively complex and expensive venture that probably won't deliver, and even if it did wouldn't compare well to LFTR.

+Darkpancakelord I agree we should keep our options open, but what gets me is the huge amounts of cash that gets thrown at fusion, while just a tiny fraction of that would fund a much better project like LFTR. I would also argue that not only is LFTR a permanent solution (thorium is far too common in our solar system to run out of), even in the unlikely event that fusion worked, LFTR would still be better in every respect. It would be cleaner, massively cheaper and far lower maintenance. Building enough fusion reactors to run the world would be an unthinkably expensive prospect, whereas doing the same with LFTR is actually plausible.

So Positive Money's research showed 7 out of 10 politicians didn't know how money is created, and now Steve Keen says 9 out of 10 economists don't know either. When the politicians know more about money then the economists you know we're screwed.

Germans are great engineers but shit artists.

Some of their cars are over-engineered, such as BMWs without oil dipsticks

Very good discussion on Thorium from the beeb.... shame its only the radio that has had anything of worth so far.
Could there be a cheaper, safer way to create nuclear energy? Julian Rush investigates.

I wouldn't hold your breath on Lockheed's fusion reactor, they have a theoretical step forward but there are tremendous hurdles still to come. The way they talk about it sounds like it is a done deal, but more likely they are trying to attract gullible investors.

China's thorium LFTR project is more promising and would be a much better system, even if this fusion thing did work. They are now estimating they are 10 years from a commercial reactor.

Hey, +Daniel Thompson, i couldn't agree with you more !!
Any decently funded Molten-sal. Rx project is gonna enjoy a much Much GREATER Likelihood of Economic sucésso que any otro Flavor of Fission & especially Fusion Science.

It would be much more efficient to extract CO2 from the sea instead of from the atmosphere. Much higher concentration there because that's where most atmospheric CO2 ends up, and it's easier to extract with electrolysis. I wonder how carbon capture fuels would compare with fossil fuels then?

Great stuff Bill, I've been wondering how long it would take you to catch the Thorium bug. Sorry to chime in with the others about the Thorium car though, it does seem to be a scam of some sort.  Molten Salt reactors are very real though, and could well power our national debt free world.

Hi +Kim L Johnson  +Bill Still is a renowned film maker who many years ago introduced me to my other (non Thorium) passion in life: Debt free money. His documentary The Money Masters is a must watch, as are his updates on his youtube channel.
