Hotel Monaco is a nice hotel with average rooms. The bed was comfortable. The shower, however, was not quite warm enough and made a weird banging noise when it was on. The sink in the room was impossible to make warm. It was always either way to hot or cold. The bar soap privided to wash your hands left a weird slimy residue no matter how long you rinsed for. On the positive side the location is excellent with many restaurants and bars within walking distance. The hotel hosts a nightly social hour with wine bear and a small snack. The wine selection was better than I expected, however, the beer was limited to a single growler and the women helping serve everyone could not tell us what is was referring to it simply as "growler beer". Overall I would consider staying here again, it just didn't meet my expectations for a hotel in this price range.

This turned out to be a great choice for a 3-night stay in SLC. The downtown location is great, about a $20 UberX ride from SLC airport. Like all Kimptons, it offers morning coffee and afternoon wine happy hour in the lobby. Karma members (it's free) get complimentary wi-fi and $10 "raid the mini bar" credit. The guestrooms/bathrooms are extremely clean. Both front and back of the house staff are super nice and accommodating of all needs. The guestrooms have robes and yoga mats, as well as Atelier Bloem toiletries. Also worth mentioning, there are no bibles in the guestrooms, which have no place in hotels and are a huge pet peeve of mine.

The rooms are nice, the location is very convenient, the service is great. There is a wine and beer reception nightly and a coffee and tea service in the morning. The prices on everything are way too high. The valet alone costs $20-some per day. The rooms themselves aren't much nicer than something like a Comfort Inn, so the price difference is not worth it.

We stayed in a room with a huge jetted tub! The room was beautiful but there was not hot water for awhile. Thankfully they were apologetic and made it up to us. It was quickly fixed. The blackout curtains were amazing. Very cool modern feel and look. Everything was really classy. We had a guppy in our room because we couldn't bring our puppy! Room service took awhile and they should definitely invest in softer toilet paper! Service was amazing. A great experience and we will definitely be back :)

Staff was friendly and helpful. You must valet for 25 dollars. You have to pay for wifi. I had no hot water in the morning. Room was really small. Overall a good hotel, but not for the price. I would not stay again.

Great! The social hour was fantastic. The hot cider was great. The staff made a bowl of ice cream because I split my lip. It was my mom's birthday and they made her cake. Best hotel in Salt Lake City and we will be back!

A nice surprise. Kind of went into this reservation blind and was quite happy with the results. Unique place but sharp and clean. Service was great and the room service from the restaurant was fantastic. Highly recommended.

My wife and I recently stayed here on our way to Palm Spring. Overall, this is a great hotel. The lobby has a very communal feel and we really liked the wine available in the evening and hot coffee in the morning. The room are very will appointed and as custom to Kimpton, every amenity item you need is available. We did have a few major issues. First, the suite 1503 was a great corner suite except one issue - pipe noise. At first we complained and they sent engineering who explained that the noise from the walls was due to the fact that the wall was shared with a jet tub in the next suite. I accepted this explanation since it was only around 8:30 in the evening. The noise repeated itself again around 10:30 for about 10 minutes. It really sounded like a super large and loud broken toilet. Since it went away I again assumed it was just our neighbors taking yet another bath...who am I to judge? The problem returned at 1:30 in the morning and lasted for 1/2 hour! And then again after that...I did not get any sleep and I had an early morning flight. Perhaps my neighbors were just extra dirty all night? Hum. At check out, when I advise the desk what happened, they seemed oblivious. Honestly, I feel robbed paying for an expensive suite and not being able to sleep. I would certainly return to the hotel but never again in that suite. Be sure to ask above room noise when you check in. Also, note, that although it says 24 hours room service, it is from the hotel restaurant. There were no menus in the room which made it difficult to order. Not to nit pick, but shouldn't bell men with luggage allow guests to take an elevator?
