Let me share my story, I purchased a 1890 streestreet terrace just before the boom in 2003 for 32000 spent 20k, it was a dream purchase that I put blood sweat and tears doing it up to a high standard with bathroom and boilers and kitchens and loft conversion along with stripping all wood back to its former beauty. Add in the south facing rear court yard and solid beech fire surround it was truely beautiful. (or so my rose tinted glasses tell me it was) only thing was the area started going down hill and so I put it on market as it didnt really keep up with inflation prices of other properties. I sold it for a decent profit and purchased what was probably the worst property I could have imagined pure money pit (at time only house which had no chain, viewed it once and purchased without survey!! Absolute idiot. I could honestly write a book about the problems and depression I suffered as a result of the purchase, especially after my previous place was so nice and finished to a high spec. Asbestos. Leaks. Electrics. Cold. Wet rot. Flat roofs, old plumbing Damp. mould i could go on forever. my my I was very nieve thinking It would be just a easy fix and tge flipper did a good job at covering over his bodgey work. In the end after putting up with it for just five months a part exchanged it for a new build and washed my hands of it. Word of advice ALWAYS ALWAYS get a full survey done!! So dont feel so bad im pretty sure you havent made such a bad decision and if you have just sell it. Take a loss no ammount of money or loss of, is worth your happiness.
