This is too cool for school. Money quote: "Looking at this conservatively ... instead of 1TB on a device you'd have 100TB to 150TB. Instead of being able to store all your songs on a drive, you'd be able to have all your videos on the device."
IBM researchers have discovered a way to create a bit of data using only 12 iron atoms, which compares to today's magnetic data storage technology requiring about one million atoms for a single bit.

Technology Experts,

Besides using software. Is there a way to record video from a computer?

I have my computer monitor connected to my TV by an s-cable. I'm wondering if I bought a DVD recorder that doesn't have a tuner, would that be a device I could use to capture video content from online?

If that won't work, are there any devices that would work. The online cable service that I subscribe, prevents using any streaming capturing software.

I can use video software like SnagIt to capture the video from my laptop but picture quality isn't great because I don't have an HD monitor. Unlike my TV which is HD the picture quality is great.

Thank you.
