I'm also an antiques dealer specializing in selling antique photographs from the Civil War, Victorian and Edwardian periods. While there are many old photographs that are in fine condition and highly salable, there are even more that are in such poor condition that they will end up in landfills. I'm reusing these distressed antique photos to make them into collages.
The piece above, measuring about 50" x 50", was from my last series, which used plastic and paper debris that entered my home in a never-ending stream of unwanted catalogs and plastic and paper that seems to come our way in waves. I made it into paper sheets and then cut it into patterns based on historical American quilts.
I look forward to seeing all your work. Thank you for the invitation to join this board!
