Well, I'm finally sorting out my Tumblr page now... besides my own art, which is currently crowded out by the content I follow, I include a lot of things relevant to my own interests, but more importantly, yours as well, I think :)

Check it out and follow... I'll be figuring out exactly how the Hell to customize things even more in the next few days. In the meantime... cheers!

Also, I keep forgetting that you can't see my Dashboard, but I recommend checking out the Tumblrs that I follow.

Oh okay... fuck it. Anyone using IE probably doesn't even know what Tumblr is. I'm using a common, pre-made theme, so I dunno why it doesn't work... at least not right now

This is my creation for April 4th, 2013... a painted tribute to a very close friend of mine. I'm not religious, but for Sierra, I'd like to think she can now walk again, and run, and that she's in a place where she can run and play forever. I'm not so sure about humans, but at the very least, I think animals deserve an afterlife... in this case, I'm willing to forgo my rational mind and hope that's where she is... the Forever Fields

Alas, I have been lazy posting on G+, but I've still been working... check out some of my new stuff that I just posted on the blog... some more landscape thumbnail paintings and random odds and ends.

I never even considered this, but now that I have, it's completely sick and insane. Talk about a justice system with warped priorities... then again, we all know that rape victims can't lobby Congress like large corporations and other organizations. In fact, lots of times they're actively silenced by authorities. Sounds pretty skewed to me...

Just a little perspective. #Steubenville

More doodling on this thing... the environment itself is based of a screenshot from Google Streetview on Hashima Island in Japan. The robot is my own :) I've still got a ways to go, of course, but here's what I have so far...
Top image is a higher DPI… I increased it to work on the robot’s details, but that might end up being a moot point once I shrink it back down. Not sure I want to go back and re-detail the whole scene...

Yes... yes indeed.

Here is my take on a mash-up between Game of Thrones and Adventure Time... there's two bonus environmental sketches as well :) hope you enjoy!

March 19th - A Behind-the-Scenes Glimpse

It's been a bit since I posted my creations on G+, but alas, they've still been coming... in this blog post, I get into detail about how I went from start to finish with this little digital painting.

While you're on the blog, check out some of my other recent posts as well!

Cheers!

Just saw your comment now, and thanks for the feedback! I'm glad you read the post... I don't think most people have the time or interest to check out the in-depth process, but I do plan to do more of these extended explanations on my blog in the future, and then just sort of post a "teaser" image on G+ and Facebook with a link. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

And you are definitely right about painting/drawing/etc being very related to photography... after all, if you think about it, the same principles of design and composition that were worked out by classical painters are the same principles that were eventually applied to photography. Even just a year ago, my understanding of composition and other elements of design were lacking... I still have a ways to go, but studying photography is also a good way for an artist to understand what makes something visually compelling.

Daylight Losings Time

I hate these time shifts, but more so now that they cut into my painting and sketching. Tonight I did four more of these small thumbnail studies, the goal being to reproduce the colors of the reference material just by looking at it.
Well, tonight I did some more of the color picking exercises that I did the other day... it's a skill I have yet to hone, considering how long it takes me to paint these little thumbnail sketches. How...

Lol that would be pretty awful... then again, you were in Hawaii, soooo it kind of balances out, it would seem! And thank you... these exercises are sort of new for me. More stuff tonight... I ended up writing an essay last night, so I've got to catch up tonight

Introduction
Hey!

I'm a creative, curious fellow with an ever-evolving list of new things to learn and experience. I'm both a digital and traditional artst, as well as a designer and writer. In general, I enjoy thinking of new ideas and bringing them to life, and I love trying new techniques to achieve that.

I'm also incredibly interested in other creative types, and so add me to your Circles if you want to keep track of my project, and also so that I can see the amazing creations you also produce!

Just had a great sub from here, and I regret having never stopped in sooner. The 8" turkey club sub was more than enough for me, and I thought it was delicious. I'm curious to try out more of them. The staff was friendly and helpful, and I felt that price was pretty comparable to other sub shops or maybe even better. My only hang up was that it'd be great if there were more options for sides, but hey, I'm full as heck anyway, so I'm pretty happy. I wouldn't even really need a bag of chips next time. Anyhow, I'll be back. Good stuff.
