Well its been a long time coming, but I now have a decent upload speed on my internet connection so video is finally a possibility for me!
To celebrate that fact I've recorded a walk through of an edit of one of my more successful  #Intentionalcameramovement  ( #ICM  ) images.

In the video you see the steps I take to end up with the final result, those steps have come from months and months of experimentation, but hopefully you will take some tips away to apply to your own experiments.

This is my 1st video so please excuse the stuttering, the phone interference and my rambling! ;)

Managed to have a quick play with Lightroom CC earlier with the tools I'll likely use in my normal workflow - i.e. face detection won't be featured.

Within, I give my very initial thoughts...
Adobe have just released the 6th version of Lightroom. This time branded as Lightroom CC. With additions of HDR and panoramic merges I give my thoughts on my 1st hour exploring this new updated software for for photo processing.

Watching the Approaching Storm - Beadnell Harbour

...a bit like the trepidation I'm feeling thinking about what is to come here on G+ after the "streams and photos" news this week.
One thing is for sure I would just love those early days here back, it was a special place to be and for once filled me with passion and positivity but now its just sadness as I miss the good friends I made that I'd see everyday (and long into the night) as most have drifted away from regular use of the platform (inc. myself).

One happy thing though is that so many Scavengers are meeting up in Vegas this week! Oh how I wish I could be there too - sorry to the organisers I missed like all the messages about the various ways to contribute, but I look forward to following the goings on online as much as I can.
If someone could gave +Chrysta Rae the huuuuuugest hug for me that would be great! As without her and the Scavenger Hunt I wouldn't be taking risks and making the images I am, without the challenges set I'd still be playing it safe.
And if someone could do that same for +Elizabeth Lund for being so sweet and supportive for all these G+ years - its been too long since we hungout!
Hope all you Scavengers going to Vegas have an amazing time! :D

Yesterday I posted my resolutions for 2015 on my blog, some are quite personal to me specifically but some may also give you a few ideas for things to work on yourselves!

Yet again its been a good few weeks since I last posted here so thought its about time I put out a bit of an update on whats been going on...

1st up, the link here is a blog post I posted today.

When you go there you may notice that I've changed my website a bit! All new and rebuilt (and still some work to do on it). A new domain name to find it on too! Its now

I've also released my first ebook! A 50+ page ebook of images I made whilst in the Lake District here in the UK. You can find that here - its dead cheap and also I'm giving a proportion of the cost to charity! So please give it a look.

Til next time..
Photography isn't always about capturing reality but can become painterly and even become interpretive. My ICM images sometimes hit this mark, here are two examples where this has happened.

A Foxton Rock

Been a long time since I did any long exposure work and quickly grabbed this as the tide receded and sun disappeared below the hills on Saturday - blind panic trying to get lenses and settings done before all the direct light went. Just caught a hint of it.

Fantastic! I love the sharpness on the rock and all else is a blur. Great minimalism.

South Charlton, Northumberland
Northumberland UK based Photographer and other things -
Northumbrian born and bred. Photography and Design is how I make my pennies these days. Always hopeful of a large lottery win though!

When I joined Google+ I didn't put my Photography front and centre in my business, but after participating in the community here my photography has improved massively and has given me the confidence to push it further, recently opening an online store

I continue to develop my style snapping the wild landscapes around me here in Northumberland, recently I have ventured into the realms of Long Exposure photography and Macro Photography.

I am a regular panellist on Midweek Photo Talk, a recorded hangout that is usually recorded at 8pm CET on Wednesdays. Drop me a line if your are interested in taking part. We are always looking for new people to join our discussions and features.

I was there in the original Hangout where Virtual Photo Walks started to be dreamt up, tagging along as John Butterill wandered around his neighbourhood  looking for wildlife to Photograph. Amazing to watch then, and just mind blowing to see the corners of the earth we've been since! Perth, Rome, Singapore, the mountains of Utah, even the Google Campus! etc etc.

I also submitted an image for the Google+ inspired Plus One Collection charity book raising money for the charity Kiva. This image features in the eBook version.
