A new report from us looks at income distributions in neighborhoods around New Jersey's transit stations. In many cases, there's a lot of opportunity to make them more equitable, and to open up the benefits of easy access to transit across a wider spectrum of incomes.
An analysis of income distribution near New Jersey's transit stations shows that the benefits of transit access are not always available to all income groups.

Other areas have realized that investment in transit is a good bet, " not just for the jobs such investment creates, but for the jobs it attracts."
Cities around the country are discovering that investments in transit bring economic benefits. New Jersey could take a lesson.

New report from us: We examine the aging water infrastructure in the state and the urgent need to upgrade it.

Also in the report are case studies from four cities -- Camden, Hoboken, Jersey City and Paterson -- that highlight steps that local communities are taking to address this issue.
This report analyzes water infrastructure in New Jersey's oldest cities, and highlights the urgent need for repair and the challenges repair efforts face.

About a month ago, a story ran that said that people were moving out of northwest New Jersey because of development restrictions imposed by the Highlands Act. The truth? People are moving out of northwest New Jersey, but not so much because of the Highlands Act. Highlands planning areas are actually growing, which suggests that a) the act is working as intended, and b) people are moving for entirely unrelated reasons.
