The Gorgonorhynchus
So the strange white thing that seems to “erupt” from the worm is its proboscis. This is a tubular sucking organ that some worms use to feed.
During eversion, which takes place almost explosively, the short main trunk first appears, then this divides and the finer and filter branches appear, but since each one of these is the result of an evagination the effect is almost indescribable. It is as if a large number of lively, wriggling, minute worms had been shot out.

"guardians"

This shot is somewhat different from my normal imagery and i shot it while walking around and looking for something to shoot the next morning for sunrise...
In Torres del Paine national parc in chilean Patagonia you can find many of these dead trees, which actually is because of a very tragic and sad story. Some years ago a (german :P) tourist wasn´t careful enough while heating up his camping food.
What first looked like a little fire in the end destroyed a HUGE part of the trees in the parc.
Whereever you drive in the parc, you can find many of these and they even are photogenic... here i tried to frame the Cuernos del Paine in some of the branches, which was actually a pretty hard task lol
Please be careful when you go camping in national parcs, we don´t need anymore of these guardians, who seem to be standing around to remember you to watch your steps.
The poor dude went to bed hungry and as i got told had to stay some time in jail besides paying several thousands of dollars of fee... we don´t want to end our stay in a wonderful place like this like that.
