A study featured in Journal of Clinical Investigation discusses a new #ALS   mouse model that will help explain the role of cells called astrocytes in the disease. The scientists involved in the study also found that astrocytes derived from people with ALS resulted in motor neuron deficits in these mouse models. http://ow.ly/JlFi0

I believe the astrocyte needs more study in ALS.  I am glad to see this mouse model being used.
