This place is a great cheap golf course. Be aware that if you are good you may become frustrated with the abundance of inexperienced players that come here. I am one of those and I try to let others play through if needed. They have enough lights that it is actually quite easy to play at night.

The greens are in great shape considering it is a par 3 course for the most part. Stop in at the grill and have a burger or chicken sandwich. The buns are fresh baked on site and are AWESOME!!! One of the best burgers I have had in a long time. The only disappointing part is the disrespect by some on the greens, presumably kids. They try to play flag darts and gouge the sides of the cup with the flag stick. If I would have seen anyone doing it, i would have yelled at them. Don't let that stop you, it is a great place!

Knights Play serves its purpose. It is a par 3 golf course that has 27 holes. I have never seen the greens in great shape but you can play 18 holes for like $10. If you are looking for a driving range with grass tees this is a good option. Most of the time they have the grass tees open. It is also open at night so if you want to avoid the summer heat you can head down to Knights Play after dark and hit some balls. I thoroughly enjoyed hitting balls around 10 pm during the summer months to try and avoid the humidity. They are not the best grass tees but they will do.

I'm not a golfer by any stretch of the imagination, and due to the advertising of "kid friendly" and odd hours I figured this would be a great place to play for fun and even take my 10yr old child with me. I along with my son and friend went this past weekend. To keep it short, though this place is intended for beginners, we were rudely yelled at for taking to long. I understand the rules and allowing people to play through, but in this situation we were the only people on the entire 18 holes. Initially we started with the back 9 because there were a few people on the front, and we knew that we were going to be a bit slow teaching my son. Unfortunately the staff did not see it the same way and informed us that not only were we taking to long, but it should only (even with 2 adults, and one child) take 10 minutes per hole. Clearly they have this down to a science. We were told, rudely, to move our game to the front 9 (empty at this point) to play the last couple holes. We were also told that it cost them $75/hr to have us play with the lights on (clearly this is my problem?). So we moved as demanded and finished. After we finished, they shut down. This was well before the "midnight" close time that they claim to have. 1. I suggest firing that rude old man because he isn't helping your business. If he happened to be an owner, then odds are you'll go out of business. 2. You advertise that you are family oriented, then don't give your customers crap for taking time and teach the youth. 3. If you have a problem paying your bills and staying open as advertised, then I would suggest changing your hours in the off season. I nor others I know will be going back. Dropping $70 to be pseudo kicked out doesn't work for me.

As long as your expectations are for a cheap round of golf that you can play anytime, then you'll have a blast here. If you're expecting a country club experience, then you'll be disappointed, but I'm guessing that clientele isn't even reading reviews of Knight's Play. The maintenance isn't stunning, sometimes the greens are cut pretty long and inconsistently, and sometimes the grass on the tee is longer than the rough, but hey, you can play til 11PM with the lights, and that's amazing. There are also a bunch of water hazards, including an island hole, that make the rounds interesting. They have 27 holes here, so there's a lot of variety, and also a nighttime driving range with both natural turf and mats to hit off of. Finally, the prices can't be beat. I'm a frequent flyer here, and buy the 10 round punch cards for a hundred bucks. $10 for 18 holes? Yup, I'm all the way in.

This is a great place for a fun night of golf with family of friends. We were two amature couples and we were able to move at our own pace. Very good value, and unique experience. Don't expect to use your long clubs - everything here is short par 3 variety

Wife and I have played there a number of times, and have always enjoyed our round. We're from Maryland, not anywhere near Apex, NC and stumbled on this place while visiting daughter in Durham. The only wish I have is that there would be something like Knight's Play in the DC area of Maryland or Northern Virginia.
