Sunset over the #Kamru Fort.
.
In the background we have the #Kinner #Kailash glowing in the radiance of the evening sun. I had camped on a narrow ridge parallel to the Kamru village hoping to get views like this and I was not disappointed.

A memorable autumn day in #Sangla #Kanda.
.
This one was from the story books. Autumn leaves flowing in the wind.. Walnuts dropping from their trees.. Juicy wild peaches waiting to be plucked.. And ofcourse awesome views like this everytime you remember to turn and look back towards the #Kinner #Kailash.
.
These are some of the things one can expect while hiking up to the Sangla Kanda in Autumn.

A typical Kinnaur sunset.
.
You have all the elements for a typical Kinna sunset here. Majestic mountains with snow capped peaks? Check. Pine forests? Check. Beautiful Weather? Check.
.
Memories that stay with you for a long time? Check. Check. Check.

This photo was taken on the route to Asrang. The Jangram valley to Asrang is not really something to write home about, but on one bend I turned around to see this unfolding behind me. The next post will be a moving image of this same scene.

Room with a view.

Would you ever get tired of living in a place like this?

Kissed by Fire!
.
I have long wanted to capture a timelapse sequence of the snow melting in the sun. And the first snowfall in #Sangla gave me the perfect opportunity to do just that. I spent a delightful couple of hours watching the sunlight creep down the hills of Sangla Kanda and melt everything in its path.

First snowfall in #Sangla.

The snows disappeared as quickly as they fell. But it felt good to be in the midst of the snow flakes once again. Even just for a little while!

I spent 5 days camping in the Sangla Kanda area. I had originally planned to spend only a couple of days there but it was such a nice location that I just did not feel like leaving. There was a very strong Reliance Jio signal from the meadows, so I spent my days lazing around browsing and downloading movies.

This was without doubt one of my most unproductive trips in the Himalayas!

Autumn in Sangla.

Hey Everyone. Apologies for my long absence. Just wanted to let you all know that I lost all the footage I shot in the Sangla valley due to an SD card corruption. So there won't be any new episodea till I go back to Spiti in January.

I’m currently in Bangalore shooting timelapse videos of the city for a documentary to be aired on Discovery Channel next year. Looking for any tips from resident Bangaloreans on any good locations and/or vantage points in the city. I am doing a project which I’m excited about after a very long time and don’t want to mess this one up.

But as always my heart is in the mountains and I can’t wait to go back for another season of winter in Spiti next month. Been purchasing a lot of gear for that trip and hopefully they’ll enable me to have more interesting adventures in Spiti this time. No blizzard is going bury my new tent this time around.

Talking about gear please take a look at my current kit on my Amazon page. As always the links are affiliate links and I’ll get a small commission from Amazon when you purchase anything after visiting the link. It is a great way for you to support my work.

Adieu to Autumn.
.
It has been a quiet few weeks. Sorry, about that. My Autumn trip to Kinnaur sort of ended on a lull. After the #Bonang festival I became a bit lazy and just spent my time idly exploring the #Sangla #Valley. Frankly I was not very interested in visiting the Sangla valley as I deemed it to be a bit touristy. But I'm glad that I did venture out there as the #Autumn landscapes in Sangla were quite spectacular.
.
Here is the #Kamru Fort with the beautiful autumn colours of Kinnaur in the background. The Kamru Fort is one of the 3 ancient forts believed to be built by the Pandavas in Kinnaur. The other 2 are at the Moorang and Labrang villages.
