Situated in the Mercado de Boqueria in Barcelona you'll find this stall in the back last row middle of the market, Fruteria Vidal Pons. Super friendly staff that pass out samples. The smells of chocolates and sweets was undeniable and was heaven. My go to here are the differing percentage cocoa flavored chocolates. Each had a distinct flavor and bitterness of chocolate that i love. This isn't your usual raisin covered chocolate but is the cocoa pod paste mashed up and surrounding the nuts itself. Any of the macadamia or almond covered chocolates were so good. You can't go wrong. I really wish i could come here every day but alas till next time Barcelona.

One of my favourite places in Barcelona with all its amazing sights, smells, sounds and tastes. It is a great experience but be aware that prices can go up considerably for tourists. The sweet stalls near the front tried to take the proverbial on last visit!

This place is packed with tourists as expected. It's still a very cool market with lots of tasty treats. Just walk around and sit down to eat whatever strikes your fancy.

A fantastic market with plenty of fresh food and drinks (fresh juices only £1, hint: go deeper into the market because the first few shops sell juice for £2.50). It's crowded, but one of my favourite places in Barcelona, looking forward to coming back again.

Great market with some amazing fresh fruits, cured meats, fresh seafood, and these amazing $1 fresh juices. There are also a couple of tapas joints inside as well. Perfect for a walk around if you are a little hungry, there is plenty to snack on here. Some items aren't practical from a tourist perspective, like buying a fresh squid. This is a stop I would definitely recommend in your travel in Barcelona. It does get tight around here so I would keep your belongings close.

The most famous of all the markets in Barcelona is La Boqueira, just off the main street of La Rambla. Over the years, it has become more of an attraction for tourists and the actual commerce of the city has increasingly moved away. But in the early mornings, before the crowds descend, the chefs and restauranteurs of Barcelona still come to La Boqueira for much of their produce. There are hundreds of stalls here, selling fish, meat, cheese, fruit vegetables and more. But as well as the ordinary, you can find the extraordinary here - the shop selling snails, or one with the vibrant colours of exotic lollies.

Came on a Saturday morning for breakfast / brunch. There's such a great variety of foods to try - everything from traditional Spanish food to bars and bars of fresh seafood. It gets crowded quite easily, so go before 11am to avoid the crowds!

Its a must see place if you are in Barcelona visiting even if you don't want to buy anything you can enjoy the sights, sounds and colours that the market delivers. There are great smoothies at cheap prices and boxes of fruit, ideal for the hot weather! Its just off La Ramlas and does get a little squished, so breathe in, hold on tight to your handbag and enjoy it for all it has to offer! It is a very photogenic place too so take your camera.
