I've been here once. Had a really good time! It seems kind of hidden because you have to take an elevator up but, it leads to a pretty good view. It's mostly a restaurant with normal dining seating on a high rise patio roof but, it's also a great place to get drinks! I would mostly come here if you are looking for a pretty good look out view.

Located in the heart of the Mission, you might recognize this rooftop bar and mexican tapas place by the long line outside. But even though the Mission is overcrowded, I won't be returning again. We were told our table for 8 would be 45 mins, and it took over 2 hours. I think they were just placating us to get us in. The roof deck is nice, good views, but it's cold. If you don't get under a heat lamp you will be very cold with unprotected winds blowing strongly across the outside tables, where we were seated. Maybe it's a better place during the day? The drinks were tasty but the food was nothing special at all. The chicharrones and accompanying sauces were bland. The guacamole was decent but lacked oomph. The skewers were ok, with the standout being the chicken skewers. They were actually quite tasty. The chorizo skewers were dry and lacked flavor. With the rigamarole around getting a seat followed by mediocre food, this was highly disappointing.

It was already cool as Medjol, but now even better. They did a fantastic job with the heated tents so you can always enjoy that unique-super-cool view of the city. The food is awesome, small bites and you get to share a lot with friends. The margaritas are good, maybe add a little more tequila..hint..hint. Such a unique space in the city and perfect for locals to hang out. I must give a lot of credit to Dean, our superstar server, he made our night with friends super easy, never having to ask for anything.

We came here for happy hour and it was really good! They only had sangria pitchers on hh so we ended up ordering individual margaritas- they were good but a tad sweet in my opinion. The quesadillas were delicious and so was the plantain! The view from the roof adds a nice ambiance.

I went here for a birthday party recently and I thought it was a fantastic location! It was a bit crowded, but it added to the fun atmosphere. The menu is mainly appetizers and small bites (compared to Lolinda's main restaurant on the ground floor). The food items ranged from $8-$12 while drinks were more on the $10 range. I ordered a pina colada, which was kind of like an horchata. It had coconut creme and cinnamon. I just had chips and guacamole, which were really good. The rest of the table had skewers, salads, elote... and no one had any complaints. And we had some photo ops of the skyline as the sun set. Our waiter was nice enough to take pics for us. I recommend getting reservations. And if one of the members of your party arrives late, be sure to meet them downstairs or have their name on a list. I had no trouble getting in (I just told them I was there for a party), but for some reason other people in my friend's party did.

This place is fun to say over and over... El Techo de Lolinda! (repeat x10) Sounds cool and it is pretty cool because how many rooftop bars have you been to?!? I haven't been to many so I thought it was awesome. To get to the bar, you go through some dimly lit hallway and make your way to the elevator to get to the roof. There are signs that point you to the right way so you won't get lost, plus it's a short walk. I thought the entire thing was cool because it made me feel special or something, like I'm going to a secret party where I go through a secret way into the secret elevator like in the movies... but anyway it was just a different way to enter the bar/restaurant. The place isn't too big but there are plenty of tables. You also get a nice view of SF while drinking and eating. It has a nice chill vibe to it. You don't need to be extra fancy but it's also weird if you're super casual. They close pretty early, last call is at 12am and everyone has to be out by 1am since they sit on top of a residential building that pretty much forces them to clear out everyone to avoid noise violations. My group and I got there pretty late so we just got drinks. They have interesting drink concotions and I chose to get the Cuba Libre. I loved my drink! It was like a sour coke almost. The drink was lime, rum, and mexican coca cola! It was a nice refreshingly light drink and I drank it like it was water. I tried some of my friends drink and it was pretty good. A lot of sour/sweet combinations which I guess maybe is popular in latin american drinks? Not sure, but I enjoyed it.

Great vibe and view. Excellent service. And the latin fusion food is also very good. Most important, the drinks are spectacular! Please try the capiroska.

El Techo has the trifecta: great views, delicious food, and a hip, lively crowd. This place is worth a visit at any hour; during the day, it gets good sunlight and the warm Mission district climate and at night the strategically placed heat lamps keep things comfortable while you enjoy the city lights. If you are here to drink, the bartender makes a mean paloma. If you are here to eat, try the chicharrones! Seriously, try the chicharrones.
