Jake’s Del Mar brings new American cooking to the edge – to the water’s edge that is. Located right on the beach in Del Mar Chef Duvinh Ta uses fresh, seasonal products as the inspiration for updating classic preparations of fresh fish, shellfish and premium meats. The lunch, dinner, and Sunday brunch menus showcase clean, eclectic flavors and local, sustainable products that are complemented by Jake’s jaw dropping location on the sand. The nightly Chef’s Special is a seasonal creation that features the best seafood, meats and produce available and through the Legacy of Aloha program, Jake’s donates a portion the proceeds from the Chef’s Special to the San Diego Food Bank.

You want a fantastic on-ocean view? Go to Jake's! While Poseidon is right next door, Jake's is great because you can go in the winter and stay warm by dining inside! The food was excellent. I had the mixed hot pot and loved it so much I'm already wanting to go back again to have it once more!

Yeah, baby! Jakes is really nice! Decent prices, and good food. I usually just get something simple like a steak or grilled fish. And I always leave room for the hula pie.....more from tradition and familiarity than anything else, since it's a pretty (large) basic dessert.

Beautiful setting on the beach! We got there just in time to see sunset. Scallops were fantastic and the hula pie is a must to share. Service was good too. We will go back when in San Diego.

food and good location. Our waiter was very friendly. I had the steak and wedge which was a little on the smaller side. The fish dishes were good. Pro tip: make a reservation a half hour before so you can sit on the patio with a great view.

Went on a Monday thinking would be quieter. Good thing we made last minute reservation because they were full. Restaurant is as close as you can possibly get to beach without getting wet. Steaks were the best we have had in a long time. Could not have asked for a better meal
