The "dreams" of neural networks; this is so cool. Basically, they told the neural net to "see" things that it thought were there, the same way we can look at the clouds and "see" rabbits and things. I would never have guessed the images produced by this technique would be so beautiful. Are they art? Are they a diagram? Who made them? Google? GoogLeNet (the name of the neural network)? The researcher who hit the 'go' button? All good questions for debate.

Blog post, more technical:

This is fantasic. There's so much good stuff here about how to use Unix/Linux systems, so many good command line tricks. Given adequate knowledge, the command line is an extremely efficient thing.

Woah there! This is what QA systems are supposed to be able to do! I haven't seen what Cortana can do yet, but according to Slashdot this blows the pants off of all of our current digital assistants. If someone put this in a box that could live on my kitchen counter and it Just Worked, I would pay money for that.

This is completely ridiculous. Sourceforge hasn't been doing well the past couple years, but this should put the nail in the coffin. Please, everyone, stop using Sourceforge, it just can't be trusted.
It appears that +SourceForge took over the control of the 'GIMP for Windows' account and is now distributing an ads-enabled installer of GIMP. They also locked out original owner of the account, Jernej Simončič, who has been building the Windows versions of GIMP for our project for years.

So far they haven't replied to provide explanations. Therefore, we remind you again that GIMP only provides builds for WIndows via its official Downloads page.

Exactly what I thought was true, proven by science (granted, I'm only citing one source). A small minority of those who actually understand the state of Artificial Intelligence think that it's a serious problem for society.  The big shots who are afraid of AI shouldn't be making statements they aren't really qualified to make; note that out of Elon Musk, Bill Gates, and Stephen Hawking, none of them work at a company based around Machine Learning / Big Data.
