IT'S CLOSED?!?!?! Oh... Lord... No... Heartbroken... To the "N"th degree!!! :o( I had "Uncle John's" for the 1st time a few years ago; instantly hooked for ETERNITY!!! I love it, plain & simple. My wife is from Chicago (South-side) & I'm from New Orleans. I'm sort of a critic (jerk) when it comes to other American city's food. Had the hot links, rib tips & a few other things. The sauce kills it for me! IMHO, it is by far the BEST bbq sauce I've ever had in my life! Every time we visit I buy 2 jars of it. And I mean jars, not bottles. It comes in mason jars (regular/hot). I says so on top of the lid. If you've ever been there you'd know. They stack them up to the ceiling at the register behind the bulletproof glass. I hope the other Uncle John's on Cottage Grove is still open & the sauce is the same.

Good Jerk ribs tips. Be prepared to wait if you go on the weekend. Long lines and slow service. I didn’t care for the barbecue sauce so you may want to order the sauce on the side. I would recommend this spot if you’re on the south side of Chicago and you have a taste for jerk rib tips.

OH MY GOSH, I can still smell the smoke! I watched the Sky Full of Bacon video and made a dash for this unique place...the rosemary/smoke-full sausage, smokey ribs, and bbq sauce dipped chicken still have me drooling...you'll need lots of napkins and lots of stomach space, and a car to get there, but it's well worth the trek!!! mmmmm, smoke!!!

Excellent Ribs!!!! Be sure to get the sauce on the side... it's good but the meat is awesome and has no need to sauce. These are easily the best ribs in Chicago!!!

South sider's in Chicago already know where to go for the best BBQ in the city! Uncle Johns. This brotha brings it with the sauce and the meat. Totally a Chicago BBQ house. Old school with the bullet proof glass and the sketch neighborhood. Drive quick, get in and out, but you will never regret going past Roosevelt Road for this one. It's worth the hustle down!

An off-the-beaten-path path that has great BBQ and great service. Definitely show up hungry and ready to eat.

HUGE PORTIONS! Fast Service. Only thing negative is sauce wasn't that good. Next time I'll try it without sauce.
