Change in the world comes from individuals, from the inner peace in individual hearts. Just as ripples spread out when a single pebble is dropped into water, the actions of individuals can have far-reaching effects.

Punchlines: Baptizing aliens?

Pope Francis has become known for saying some pretty unconventional things as far as popes go. He's taken heat from the right for saying wealth should be redistributed to help the poor. And he was criticized by many in the Catholic church and beyond (including the highly religious on the left) for statements that seemed to condone the gay lifestyle. But, his latest comments about baptizing martians have done something not seen in politics for years. They've brought the right and left together -- even if just for a moment to collectively scratch their heads in bewilderment. Yes, Francis said during his Monday mass that if aliens came to Earth and asked for baptism, who are we to go against God's word. A far-out analogy?

These photos are of my grandson after racing on hwy 80 on his motorcycle. The accident occurred 24 days after his 21st birthday. He had been drinking for 9 hours. He didn't have a helmet on.
Please show these pictures to your children and friends in hopes that they won't drink and drive.
He is in a induced coma for several weeks. He broke his face in 4 places, punctured his neck, broke his shoulder blade, broke several ribs, punctured his lung, has a bleeding kidney and spleen, broke an arm and femor, and tore his foot off. His nedical bills are estimated to be in the millions. It will be close to a year if things go well before he can walk. His vision is damaged. He will have to have 3-4 more surgeries in his foot several on his face and on his leg, and possibly on his arm.
If you can, please donate blood at your nearest blood bank in Dustin Regnold's name. What ge doesn't use, will be used fir others in need.

The reason some men are obnoxious, arrogant, and rude is they may be very insecure and unsure about life and the vicissitudes of living has become a burden to them. Always remember that arrogance is a poor substitute for self-esteem. The more self-esteem one has the more polite they become. Self-esteem is like a garment one wears with the pride of self-confidence, and with self-confidence one can be humble and speak softly.

Measles vaccine attacks cancer in landmark study

ROCHESTER, Minn. - Mayo Clinic researchers announced a landmark study where a massive dose of the measles vaccine, enough to inoculate ten million people, wiped out a Minnesota woman's incurable blood cancer. The Mayo Clinic conducted the clinical trial last year using virotherapy. The method discovered the measles virus wiped out multiple myeloma cancer calls. Researchers engineered the measles virus (MV-NIS) in a single intravenous dose, making it selectively toxic to cancer cells. Stacy Erholtz, 49, of Pequot Lakes, was one of two patients in the study who received the dose last year, and after ten years with multiple myeloma has been clear of the disease for over six months.
